Hello all. I've been looking around this site (As well as others for awhile now, so I have checked my issue out as much as possible. I'm having somewhat a similar prob as some others, but with a twist. I'm going through a Belkin router. Here is what I have set up:
my pc
IP: 192.168.2.3
Sub: 255.255.255.0
DNS 192.168.2.1
xbox
IP: 192.168.2.4
Sub: 255.255.255.0
DNS 192.168.2.1
Now, I'm brand new, and am confused a little. I'm not sure if I can check the folders via FlashFXP without the EvoX, or if I need it to check the folders. If I don't need it to check the folders, then I'm having a problem. It will say the following, then give me a connection failed message:
(used xbox for name and pass, and port 21)
[R] Connecting to XBOX -> 192.168.2.4 Port = 21
[R] Connected to XBOX
Then it says Connectionn Failed (connection lost)
I've pinged the xbox, and I am getting the packets back successfully. Here's the weird thing. I put the xbox outside of my router's NAT Firewall. BUT, when I turn off the Windnows Firewall, the connection doesn't even get to the part where it says "Connected to XBOX", it fails right after it says connectiong to XBOX. When I turn the Windows Firewall back on, the FTP gets to the "Connected to XBOX", then fails. I am utterly confused and frustrated, so any adivce would help. Thank you in advance!

Hi,
So you have a hacked dashboard running already??
Eg.. like evox, XBMC, unleashx???
If you dont have a hacked dashboard installed you wont be able to ftp into the xbox.. You will need to install a dashboard first and then configure it.
You cannot FTP into a standard xbox without modding it..

You'll need a dashboard to be able to FTP into the xbox. If your just settings your network settings from the MSdash, you won't be able to FTP into it, as it doesn't run an FTP server.
You'll need to install either a softmod or a modchip.
Why are you tring to FTP in? There may be other ways to accomplish what your trying to do _________________

You need to mod the xbox first. The mod is what actually allows you to ftp into the xbox. You don't have to chip it, you can softmod it if you wish but it must be modded. Please tell us what exact;y it is that you are trying to do. There might be another way. _________________

Thank you all!!! That's what I wasn't sure about, if I needed to Mod first to FTP, or if I needed to FTP to mod. I do appreaciate the help.
Also, Greven, I did want to see if there was still a way to do it, just to see what's on there. But I tried setting up a home network, going through Internet Explorer, etc., and nothing, but all your guys help explains why. Now I understand I need to softmod first.

Technically speaking, you don't have to actually do the softmod, if you boot the softmod tool, set your network preferences and restart, you can FTP into the xbox without applying the softmod permanently, and then you can boot to the SID menus from your exploit game when you need to, _________________
