Hallo everybody.

Please, excuse me for my poor english. Embarassed

I need to flash my Aladdin+ chip. I have the Evox dashboard correctly installed, but i have (apparently) no evox bios inside my modchip.

I heard that i need to "transform" the bios i found (x2_4983.06_256k.bin) to match the size of the bios inside my modchip. x2_4983.06_256k.bin is 256kb. What is my aladdin+chip size??

Is this trasformation necessary??

Thx in advance!

Hi Lord_Lance,

Why would you want to flash your bios if your xbox is already running the EVOX DASHBOARD..

The only reason i would want to flash my bios is:
1. If i installed a 250gb HDD into my xbox
- You would need to probably flash your bios if you wanted to use such a large HDD but apart from that there is no reason to do it.

I always say.. If it isnt broke dont fix it..

Here is a tutorial which will help you..

Aladdin Live:

hope that helps mate,

1st of all, thx for your reply.

Well, my aladdin+ is always on: i can't use the funcion "keep pressed power on button to poweron xbox with modchip shouted down" to play my original games with xbox live.

So i think the bios inside the modchip do not works smoothly... And i can't use my live account in this days...
I have the original M$ dash, and the Evox dash inside my C: but modchip don't want to start correctly.

PS. Aladdin+ is NOT Aladdin Live, so i can't use other suggestion for the last one.

Hi,

If you want to play XBOX LIVE you MUST have a modchip with a switch or somesort of protection that modchips can offer..

Any modchip can easily have a switch added to it.. So if thats a quick fix maybe you should try that..

If you want to play xbox LIVE with a MODCHIP fitted you will also have to make sure that the BIOS your modchip uses boots to your XBOX C:\ evox.xbe instead of xboxdash.xbe like older MODHCIP BIOSES do!

When you connect to the XBOX LIVE SERVICE it scans to make sure the ISNT A MODCHIP ACTIVE and also that your c:\ XBOX PARITION has the same files and with the same filenames..

Thats why you want to boot your evox.xbe and not your xboxdash.xbe

Hope you know what i mean mate..

cheers,

forahobby

Found the problem. I post the solution 'cause maybe this can be useful to other people with ALADDIN+ (advance) modchip:
if you install this modchip in older xbox (like 1.0 or 1.1) you HAVE TO INVERT wire L1 and BT. The scheme they give, in older versions in "inverted", so you need to sold L1 in BT point showed on motherboard, and BT in L1.

Now my chip boots without Evox if i just press power on, and it boots with Evox if i keep pressed the button a couple of seconds!

Sound and Clear!

hi mate,

You need to keep yourself logged in for that to happen.

When your finished browsing through XBOX-HQ.COM dont log out.. Just close the browser window and you will still be logged in.

If your still having problems just remove all your temporary internet cache and delete all your cookies too. hen log back in on the xbox-hq homepage.

hope that helps mate,
