Dude i got a xbox v1.1, ive peeked in mine a few times and i aint seen ne extra space for a fan or two, especially as you will want them spread out to get more of a cooling effect.
If you look in the tutorials though there is one on how to add extra huge hdd fan, this would greatly increase air flow, also the origional fan is running at 4volts instead of it possible 12volts, so that could increase your ventillation a but aswell.
I hope this helped point u in right direction, tell us how it goes, and i will most likely do the same, atm i am having temprature problems with my xbox due to living upstairs in my house(WARM ) _________________ WE ALL STARTED DIEING AT BIRTH

Try removing as many obstructions as you can.
I cut away a hole in the metal grate that the fan is secured to. This makes for less noise (less for the air to pass by) and better air flow.
You could also try this for the sides of the metal case next to the power supply and the dvd drive. I was thinking about removing every other 'bar' so that the structure isn't weakend too much but air flow would improve.
Th Console Corner has a fan attachment that sits on the outside of the xbox to add 2 more fans. Some people like it, some don't. _________________ XBOX v1.1 - Philips DVD

you can make your fan spin faster if you snip the black wire and solder it onto a groune. like the little silver ring around the screws holding down the mother board.
