Has anyone thought about mounting a VGA connector, headphone jack and a ON/OFF switch in the back panel of an Xbox? How feasable would this be? Could this be done with wires and connectors or would I need other components too?
I'm looking to make an Xbox more portable, and I have 17" monitors and speakers everywhere I want to take it, but my portable TV is only a 9". _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

Ive never actually thought about mounting in to the xbox, but I have thought about picking up a VGA adapter. I here this is the best one.

I just figured that if this will work, it's cheaper and one less thing to pack!
BTW: I'm talking about a hard-wired mod. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

What kinda hardware do you plan on using? Custom made vga adapter maybe? I know there are a few diagrams out there explaining how to get it done.

I was thinking that (if it's possible) I would just solder wires between the connector (mounted in the back of the XBox) and the connection points on the mobo, then use a toggle switch to make the xbox think that there is a cable connected when I am going to connect a VGA monitor.
Does anyone think this is do-able?
(Please, please, PLEASE say yes.)
Maybe a mod chip or a TSOP flash is required? _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

If I can get away with $0.50 in wire, $1.79 for a connector, and a couple hours of work...Hell, I'd re-invent the wheel at $47.70 a pop! _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

Thanx, but I've found that one already. I appreciate the help though. I will deffinately post my results, but it will have to wait until I reflash my TSOP so it works again (time to make a 29 wire mod!)
I was looking to do it without a sync seperator. It seems that the Xbox should be able to send a VGA signal by it self! _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

Here is the link to TEXTBOOKS site on how to have three switches to change between hd,vga, and standard outputs.
Hope this is what your looking for.
Oh ya, even though some pictures over lap the text, just double click on the text to highlight it. It's all there.
This has been not proven by me....yet!
