Hi all,
Well with the arrival of the 360 im planning on organising myself a new capture card for my pc so i can get all the latest screenshots for all our members here on games and future homoebrew material.
Does anyone have a 16:9 HDTV compatibile capture card.. THe reason why i ask is ive recently been capturing in DVD quality but its only 4:3.. Im no expert when it comes to capturing but ive been doing it for years..
Can anyone give me some good info or links to a product that may be what im after?? Maybe you already use one and can recommend it.
I have an ATI HDWonder in my HTPC. It doesn't give me
any sound, probably because I had a Soundblaster card
initially and removed it. When I hooked up my 360, just for
grins, I went to TV. Works great in high def on the 360 with
perfect sound. If you are using it only on a PC the HDWonder
would be my choice. I have used the ATI video and Tuner
cards for years and love them. If you are going to use it on a
"Media Center" PC, I would suggest a different brand.
Make sure you get one that is "Media Center" certified.
Media Center is basically XP Pro, but, some of the "MEDIA"
parts of it don't work without specific MCE programs.
Several of my otherwise stable programs on my PC Crash
on my HTPC. ADSTech has one that looks pretty good.
I have had good luck with other products of theirs.

Instant HDTV PCI
As a side note, the 360 works well playing music and videos over
my network from the HTPC. It doesn't seem to play MP4 though.
HDTV even works great with the HTPC being wireless. When I
get a chance, I will check into network settings for a "generic"
USB 802.11. $15 VS $100 is better in my book.
