I HAVE AS VERSION 1 XBOX. WITH 160 G HD AND A XENIUM ICE CHIP SODDERLESS. TRIED TO PLUG THE HDTV CORD TO MY HDTV PROJECTOR AND IT JUST BOOTS TO THE MS DASHBOARD. IS THE CHIP NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE COMPOSITE XBOX CORD.

Hi playerpp,
for HDTV your xbox must be NTSC mode.. If your xbox is in PAL mode like mine you will have no options for HDTV in your M$ Dashboard..
I myself used Enigmag VIdeo Selector to change my bios from PAL to ntsc..
Now i have the HDTV options and the cable works like a charm with my projector and plasma.
hope that helps
btw.. ill move this topic into the audio/visual forums here on HQ
ntsci have the options for hdtv on my xbox. but it still wont work on my projecter. it is a ntsc.

do you have the official HDTV AV PACK for your xbox??
Thats what i have.. I only just got mine like 4 months back or so..
Ive heard some of the aftermarket HDTV AV packs for xbox dont work 100% so i went to all the trouble of purchasing a Official HDTV AD pack from lik-sang.com
Hopefully another member may have some input.. I cant see what is wrong..

I think I know why you are not getting HD. Composite cables are not for HD, they only do normal tv. Component cables do HD. There you go, try some component cables.
I do not know if this is true, but I heard a rumor that the rca cables are the same as component cables only differently colored. So try plugging them in the corresponding component cable jacks and see if it works, if not just go buy the compenent cables.

I went back and read the original post, I don't think you guys read it correctly, it seems to me that he said that with the HD hookup, it boots to the MS Dash instead of the hacked dash he has chosen.
First off, do you have the widescreen and hidef settings on in the MSDash?
Secondly, what bios are you running on your chip?
Thirdly, what dashboard are you using?
Forthly, what region are you in? (like to a country level, nothing real specific)
Fifthly, does the chip leds come on like normal with the hd cables plugged in?
Sixthly, are you sure you have the chip on?
That should be enough questions to figure this problem out, or atleast get a good start on it. _________________
