Hi Guys!
I am new to all of this but have been reading up on various forums about xbit and Xbox v1.6. I have a v1.6 xbox and v1.5 xbit.
I have installed my xbit into the xbox using the 1.6 adapter i got from dms. The 9 wires (the 1.6 adapter converts 11 wires into 9) have been soldered to the lpc according to the diagram on the dms website (I have attached the diagram).
There was no mention of the well known D0 at all. However i did get another adapter with my xbit which plugged onto the DVD power on the mainboard and split to power the DVD drive and the xbit. I assume this is now instead of soldering to D0??? I don't know!! Aaarrghh
I have downloaded the M8_16.bin bios and also have tried the Xecuter 2 bios, neither of which have booted. I just boot into the original bios.
I have retried flashing the chip in different banks and trying to boot but no joy. I'm pretty sure that the chip is active as the green light on the external USB connector is lit. The X-B.I.T itself does not have an led on it, just the external adapter.
Can anyone please give me any pointers, apologies if i have not given enough information. I just can't seem to get this working.
Any help very appreciated.

You have 11 wires and that diagram only has 9 wires, so you have 2 left? One of them is going to be the D0, probably on the other side of the board.

Thanks for response guys.
The diagram shows the 11 wires going from the xbit and connecting to the 1.6 adapter, then 9 wires coming from the 1.6 adapter (picture in the bottom left of diagram). I don't have any wires left over to go anywhere....
When you say ground d0 point, what do you mean bobrownik??
Sorry if that's a stupid question!!

Hi all,
Has anyone actually sucessfully modified a v1.6 xbox using a 1.5 xbit and 1.6 xbit adapter???
No-one seems to know how to do this?!?!
The DMS website doesn't really get involved either! All they provide you with is the 1.6 xbit adapter wiring diagram (attached above) which I have followed and double checked the soldering.
The Xbit is being powered by an adapter that plugs onto the DVD power supply and splits to provide power to both xbit and DVD drive.
Any help very, very welcome!!!!

They are not the most highly regarded chips around and not many people use them, their only bonus is the usb flashing, but then other 4th gen chip allow you to flash via web server which is easier.
You are going to need an LFRAME (D0) connection regardless, or wire the D0 to one of the mobo screws

I have purchased a lpc rebuild pcb, it looks like it will make this whole thing a hell of a lot easier!! Haven't received it yet, but when I do I'll let you know how I get on.
Can't wait until this is done........
I also have a 120GB Western Digital HDD that I want to put into my xbox. Are there any real problems/things i should watch out for or is it fairly plain sailing?
Thanks for all the help so far guys!!
