Hi i`ve just installed a xecuter3 modchip to my xbox (solderd).not sure what version it is but it has a focus chip?and everything seemed to be fine when turned on ,blue light etc.i then flashed the bios with X3 1957 and it rebooted.but when i came to boot up again the screen stays black and nothing happends.when booted up with the chip disabled i get 05 service required.call customer support.so i did and they said its a firmware or hardware problem.does anyone know how i can fix this myself as i feel really pŁ$%ed off with myself for trying to mod it.any help is really needed.Cheers!

When you boot up with the chip disabled and get the 05 error code that means your HD is unlocked.

Lock the HD and you should get to the dashboard as long as one is on there. If no dash resideso n this HD then you will get another error code, this time 13 or 21.

Your Xbox version is either a 1.4 or 1.5. That is the focus chip versions. The only way to tell is to check for continuity between the number 4 LPC hole and a ground. If you have continuity it's a 1.4 if not it's a 1.5.

If you have a 1.5 machine, which is doubtful but possible, there are two extra wires that you need to solder in order to get your chip to work. But, since you were able to get to the flash bios screen and flash your mod chip I woudl have to say your chip is installed okay.

I would try to somehow reflash the chip. Your bios that you used may have been corrumpt in the downloading process. Plus, the 1957 bios is still very buggy. I'd be using the 1959 bios.

No, you should get some type of error. I would say it's a bios issue.

The black and white, hmmmm... not sure what's going on with your machine. Make sure all connections are secure (IDE Cables, and even your AV cables.)

But, I would certainly try getting the 1959 bios on that chip.

Cool, glad it worked out.

Let me know about the black and white issue. Are you using the standard AV Cables or the Hi Def pack?

I had a quick issue with black and white once, but a reboot solved my problem.

With that X3 chip keep an eye out for newer bios' coming out. The X3 bios' are still buggy and a lot of people been having sporadic problems with the X3 and I am certain it's bios related.

Later bud

Just as a heads up, the 1957 bios is very very buggy.. that is why Team Xecuter released the 1959 bios...

To anyone else.. do not use the 1957 bios.... especially with 1.4 and newer Xboxes...

Is there an way to find out what BIOS my machine has on it? If i look at the settings menu in my evoluotion x dash it says BIOS unknown. I also have ava launchable from my Games, it says somthing about a kernal ? what is a kernal?
I can access my xbox via FTP through the internet (two seprate modems) is there anyway this can help? i also have programs like xpad if they can help, my xbox crashes all the time and i'd love for it to be more stable.

I have never used it, but doesn't the Autoinstaller deluxe have a bios checker??

You would need something like that. Since the bios resides on your chip not on the HD, the use of an FTP program woudn't help you.

What chip do you have? Also what size HD are you using?

Thanks man
