Posted: Sat Jan 09, 2021 3:45 am Post subject: Need some help with Flashdrive-Xplorer360 issue...
First off I am definitely a "NEWBIE" when it comes to console softmodding. My name is Anthony, I have been gaming since I first played Moon Patrol, and Asteroids on Atari 2600 in the early 80's. From Atari to Nintendo, Sega, and Playstation I have had most of them all. PC gamed alot too but, the original XBOX and Halo 2 is specifically what pulled me away from PC gaming. I have a deep love for this console. I recently found my old console(that the disk drive quit working on 10 years ago) and thought I would give it a shot at trying to fix it.
I found some tutorial videos on YouTube and with a little lithium grease, a few Qtips and some alcohol I have it working flawlessly. So while searching I ran across some Vids on how to softmod your XBOX. Specifically P3NCE and Last Heart Games, great videos, all the info and easy to follow. So I decided I was gonna give it a try.
Here is where I need help......I have all the files and programs I need downloaded, unzipped and ready to go. Oredered all the stuff I needed and Like alot of people the flashdrives I got didn't work. I found an old flash I had since about 2010 and plugged it into the XBOX and presto! I was finally ready to transfer the files needed to start. I started Xplorer360 and pluged in the flashdrive to my PC and I don't get an error wanting me to format? Nothing happens. I think OK maybe its alright, so I select drive-open-hardrive or memorycard in Xplorer and I get error "Could not find a FATX drive to open!" I have read several threads, FAQ's, and watched some vids, searched this site for a few hours and nothing. The PC can't see the drive unless you go into disk management when I go there I get a pop up "Initialize Disk", its labled Disk 1 and is asking me to partition it.
My question is.....what do I do now? Is there something I am missing? Can I fix this in windows and redo the FATX format on the XBOX? Or.....Do I need to just buy some more flashdrives and try again? I am currently stumped....Any help is well appreciated.....Sorry for such a large post, and if this is answered in a tread somewhere on here please direct me too it and archive this one THANKS!! in advance.
