Hi everyone, I have an original xbox, hard modded with an open xenium chip running Evox M8 Plus 16 BIOS. And UnleashX dashboard. I put one .wma song on the xbox via xboxst editor and it played in game fine (the music file was no more than 128kbps).
So I deleted it with xboxst editor and put a lot of .wma music onto it at a slightly lower bitrate for space, they play fine in the stock dashboard. But the moment they play in a game or on the Coinops8 emulator menu, they freeze the xbox. Is this something to do with the st.db file?
I'd appreciate any advice.
EDIT:
Did a lot of testing, it seems some of my .FLAC files I converted to .WMA were missing an MD5 checksum when I put the music into foobar2000 and checked their details. Also when verifying them in foobar, some tracks had slightly different lengths reported vs verified. So although they work fine on MS dashboard and anywhere digitally, they seem to be missing some info and that is what's causing the crashes when played in-game.
Grabbed the same album I'd purchased from another source and this one still seemed 1:1 or with intact MD5, it worked. Make sure any music you convert to .WMA first has an MD5 in foobar2000. Otherwise your xbox will crash. Seems even some purchased .FLACS can be missing info that a CD would normally have.
