Well guys its getting close to Canada Day and that means new releases. If you happened to be one of those guys watching the 240P thread you know I decided to take over maintaining ZSNEXBOX the greatest SNES emu for XBOX. And we now have a new build based off my force rez screen paint build. If you were hoping for the new KIxxx sorry thats waiting till July 1st
Whats new and kewl?
Well if youre a purist ie a guy who wants your SNES emu to look just like a SNES in all its crappy low rez glory then this for you. Running in SD you get a forced rez of 240 (interlaced) if rocking an HD pack you get a forced rez of 240P. Yup 240 fuc*&ng P Confirmed using the SNES 240P Test Suite. If still not convinced just fire up a game using this latest build of ZSNEX then fire up the same game using SNES9x the difference is like the difference between hotdogs and T-bone steak
The Point
Well since HQ is where I started out many moons ago (mod then admin, Hobbs and DJB helped me along immensly thanks guys) I figured the guys here as long as they agree not to leak it deserve pre-release access. So PM me and I will give you a link to download. DO NOT SHARE THE LINK. AND UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES UPLOAD THIS TO A SITE THAT CHARGES. Im a firm believer that I made it for free, I shared it for free and nobody will make a buck off my hard work
Since some people asked about screen shots, there you have it. 256x224 the original rez for the SNES and progressive scan. Both shots taken with ZSNEX and untouched.
Very nice, now I can finally use the xbox as a perfect emulation machine. Thank you!
However I got a question. How do I activate progressive scan? What do you mean with "HD pack?".
Looking forward to your answer!

This uses pinout for progressive scan. When you plug an SD pack into the XBOX it connects certain pins and tells the XBOX what AV pack your using and it enables accordingly. 480i. When you plug in an HD pack it connects different pins and this enables 480P. I piiggy-backed the pinout so progressive must be enabled by the AV pack.
SD Pack
3 plugs RED, WHITE (audio) and YELLOW (video)
HD Pack
5 plugs RED, WHITE (audio) and RED, GREEN, BLUE (video)
Congratulations on your success. I followed the original 240p thread you worked on for a long time, although I don't know where it was (maybe another forum?) This is great news but I have a few questions to ask if you can help.
Firstly, I would very much like to run this on my CRT tv to make use of the 240p but as this tv is SD, it does not support HD resolutions. How would I be able to launch the emu, I'm assuming that when using the HD pack the XBOX defaults to running 480p, is it possible to use the hd pack with a 480i res on the dash until the emu is loaded?
Secondly, do you think this will open the door to having other emu's run at 240p now.
If anybody as able to tell, is there a way to go from the hd pack to sd scart cable?
Thanks.

That woulda been over at Xtras, about 240 pages to go with the 240P
As for SCART I have 0 experience, being in Canada Ive never had the chance to use one (seems to be an EU only thing)
And yes when using the HD pack it does default to "480P" only I hookered the 480P so its rez is actually 224P. 480P back buffer, 224P paint over. And sadly after some testing by some guys over at Eletorlado weve come to the conclusion that this only works on HD TVs, it comes out crappy on CRT On a CRT it remains interlaced where as on an HD TV it gets displayed progressive (TV upscaling)

Just click on the download link in the original post. Its direct from my Mediafire. Extract it, FTP the folder toyour XBOX Emu folder and enjoy. You can alternatively use Penny Ops FTW edition http://www.mediafire.com/file/6zzps3sf5fbemn3/penny_ops.7z This has one of my last RC KIxxx builds, Nestopia NESOAD edition, ZSNEX 240P, and built in ROM launching from dashboard menu for Sega Master System, Game Gear, Genesis, Nintendo and Super Nintendo. And all direct launch emulators are built into the dash XBE
