Sadly my xbox hard drive died the other day, so i made an xboxhd using xboxhdm but i cannot lock the drive as i have not got the eeprom and can not get it. I get an error 5 when i turn on my xbox, if i were to buy a Duo X2 GS would it allow the xbox to run/boot off of the unlocked hard drive?

All mod chips bypass the eeprom check so a chip would have you up and running in no time.

Like wes213 mentioned, a modchip will sort you out..
This is why i love modchips so much, they let you get away with just about anything.
