I would like to add something to the stickys on using CHIMP 2.x ..
I have spent all day long trying to change out a HD on a xbox (3 different ones) 1.1, 1.4, 1.2 .
Chimp kept locking up on me all day no matter what I did, no matter which box I was using. I went as far as to download newer Auto installer disks , ect/.
I just figured it out. ( I had 2 problems) ... (1) was due to the sticky's not just here, but all over the internet.
(the Controller...) has to be a original xbox controller. -I know the sticky now that im looking made a tiny remark about 3rd party controller, but it didnt stand out at all, most people start looking at the directions not the base info at start.
(but problem #2 was bigger). It was my Video cable, I use COMPONENT HD cables to my HDtv, and it also cut off half the screen (everytime).
So please for everyone else (new to Chimp) add in larger print (MUST USE ORIGINAL XBOX CONTROLLER OR MAY NOT HAVE SCREEN CONTROLL), & also add; (USE ORIGINAL A/V CABLES, as HD cables may generate screen issues).
Again, I had exact same problems ALL DAY LONG on 3 different xboxes with 3 different versions.. I believe its worth updating the CHIMP log...
thanks

Sorry to hear that it gave you a fit bro but the guides are made by us and users for the site so the guides are kind of as is, feel free to submit your own guide with wording and steps that you found to work.
I am sure it would get used bro.

I will put something together then and upload it soon. But it is true, using chimp is super easy and fast, just need to make sure these little things dont get in the way for newbies. ( ive converted apx 8 xboxes into xbmc, and set up friends and family with servers to feed them.-plus emulator setups) just never until yesterday tried to change out a HD ( i used a 20gig one, just to learn with).
But now I see I can do it in a matter of minutes (once the case is open). Just figure if you know as much as I do on converting, and yet a simple HD switch took 8 hrs+, then these small issues are important enough to point out in bold print I think.
