That was the last thing I did, I think I tried to load chimp and the screen went blurry and now it wont boot to a dash at all. I tried to read my eeprom last night with no luck also kept getting bus busy error, any advice on getting a good eeprom read from a version 1.6?
If you can get AID or XBMCID to boot then this means you should be able to FTP into the xbox and backup things..
Try booting AID etc (whichever) and then ftp into the xbox like normal using username: xbox and password: xbox and the ip address of the xbox.
The XBMCai boot disc worked until I tried to use chimp on the disc, now it wont boot the disc anymore at all. I will try and ftp into it today to see if I can though. Thanks for the help.
I tried to read my eeprom by building with 2 4k resistors and 2 zeners, I tried using the power from the xbox and external power and neither would let me read the contents of my chip. I had the SCL and SDA wires soldered directly to the chip and my ground under a screw on a ground pad. Kept getting bus busy.

Well I ended up building a eeprom reader but couldnt get it to work either. I tried external power and powering via the xbox, and ended up taking the chip out and still couldnt get it read, so my question is if I buy a mod chip do I need to have the original eeprom installed in order for it to work? Thanks for any help
