I've got an xbox with the 1.5 bios and it is modded with an xecuter 2.3b lite+ it was modded with a 120 GB hard drive but it recently went out (yes i lost a lot of games and media) but im try to put it back together with a spare 80GB i have and i cant find the information from when i first modded this xbox. I have EvoX 3935 but that is newer than i had on it before. My question is 2 parts:
1) Will i have to run the executer bios installer again even though my chip works or is it true that it will come up to the format screen already. and will the new version of evox work with an older chip like mine?
2) and if not how do i get the ftp to log in to the xbox to install the files so the dashboard i have will show up . yes i read the sticky posts but i didnt do any of that last time i put the disk in that came with the chip and was done. I added my apps and files the way the sticky post said to, but im not that far yet i cant even get an xbox format on the drive to start placing the dashboard on the drive.
I understand the file structure and i have alot of IT knowledge, but it has to be eaiser than what im trying to make it. I just need a push in the right direction. Maybe even toward the Linux versions..... Please help.

Get yourself a copy of AID from here with a bittorrent client like utorrent:www.aidtracker.com
Once you have aid burn it to a DVD-R at the lowest speed possible. AID will allow you to format your HDD, install dashboard, apps and emulators all with a few clicks. _________________

Thank you for the help. That worked fine evox is up and now im rummaging for homebrew apps. I want to say that you guys are great. I like to come to a place where i can ask a novice question and learn from it. Not ask a question and get flamed by 20 people about hom much of a noob i am. Thanks for being cool and helping people and not being the WOW or Halo3 forums

Ok new delemia. After getting everything working the next day i turned mon my xbox and it rebooted 3 times then fraged (started blinking read and green on the ring). I then looked up the evecuter 2.3b lite+ chip info and found a install walkthrough for installing the chip. I get the 2 blue lights and the green when the chip is disabled and it boots up to the ms dash fine and will run like a normal xbox. If i enable the chip on bank 1 or 2 it restarts 3 times and frags. im usingthe solderless version with the spring loaded pins. what is going on. i have the d0 pin connected but what would be causing the xbox the reboot like that? it worked fine before now it only works if its disabled im lost. oh and the times is doesnt keep rebooting (i shift the chip a little it stays on but i get no video (fuzz on the tv instead of a black screen) but if i disable it the d0 pin green light dosent come on. if this is just a connection issue ill just make this a soldered version. letm e know before i just get a 2.6 chip for my 1.6 board i have laving arround in a box

Bad connection bro, try pushing down on the chip and hold it there then boot and see if it works.
If so you just need to adjust the solderless header.

yah my d0 pin is out and causing it to reboot now over and over again im gonna see if i can fix it if not, well ill see if i can wire in the chip manualy to a 1.6 board. i have a walkthrough but its gonna be rough.

i feel very stupid right now. My board went out after the mod or somthing. I put my chip in my friends 1.4 with my HD and wouldent you know it it booted just fine. I now need to get another xbox 1.0 to 1.5 for my chip to work, or is there a better walkthrough to connecting a xecuter 2.3b lite + to a v1.6 and flash the bios to see the 1.6 version of the board? the one i have is really vague.
