when i first softmodded i backed up my ms and eeprom files like the manual said to do, now i finally got a bigger HDD and ftp'd into my xbox to retrieve my eeprom but couldn't find where it was. i used this tutorial http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/203286 and it said the eeprom back up would be in a folder called backup_linux but i don't have that folder, so is it some where else or am i screwed?

yea, thats what i don't get, I thught if there was no eeprom the hdd wouldn't work, but mine works perfect and i can't find the eeprom any where. I checked the softmod menu, evox, configmagic ( not to familiar with it so i didn't go to deep) still nothing!
if you can think of something i'll be your best friend, lol.

no ur eeprom is hard coded inside ur mobo, so it will always be there till remove the eeprom chip from ur motherboard. go to xbins and get the ndure expolit and run it with MA, then ftp inside ur xbox, and get the eeprom

Pop in aid and in the softmod section you can go to the back up stuff and put a new back up of the eeprom to your hdd, it will even let you move it to the root of any partition.

Shouldn't take that long at all, is the BIOS re-flashable on that chip?
And is your flash protection disabled on the chip?

Since you never soldered the points for a TSOP it cant erase it so you should be just fine bro.
