I know it sounds like a fishy coincidence but Halo 3 didn't red light your 360. What red lighted your 360 is Microsofts very insane belief that having a 360 built in a third world country where they don't even have indoor plumbing in most cases is the best way to do business because they can build them there cheaper. I have had numerous red lights with all my 360's except for my most recent one and my 360 has been playing halo 3 since it came out. No my friend halo 3 is not the enemy...the enemy is poor craftsmanship and shoddy quality control. Hopefully when you recieve your 360's back from repair they will run like they were supposed to in the first place.

Correct rebel...H3 did not cause your xbox to malfunction...this happened to me as well and it was before halo 3 even came out....i went to play it one day then BAM!!! 3 flashing red lights..AKA The Red Ring of Death...a red light in each quadron represents a different problem...the only fix is to have it shipped out and then they dont even repair YOUR xbox....they send u someone elses thats already been repaired..AKA "Refurbished"....well after it happened to me i had mine sent off and about 4 weeks later i got a "refurbished one back and it played for about 2 hours and then IT got the lights....talk about mad man..they got an ASS chewin from me then i got ANOTHER one...it worked haha...but no man Halo 3 doesnt caause this problem...may cause loss of sleep tho _________________

I have H# a n d i'm doing fine..
Where do ya'll keep the consoles at? Are they well ventilated?
How long do you play your 360 per sit?
If it not well ventilated it has been known to heat up and cause some of the solder to melt and mess up thus people have developed the "Towel trick"////
Although the H3 edition 360's have the new cooling units and the 65nm cpu...... _________________

3 rings 2mins into game
standing up plus sit about 1cm higher because i have two bits of board under foot pads so air can flow better under bottom

totally agree wes and believe me if i could get close enuff to the man i would definately chuck my box at him seems to me a company like microsoft would invest a lil more $$ into things like this to avoid these kinds of problems but the world revolves around the almighty dollar and if they can labor cheaper [regardless of the quality] they will go for it _________________

Here is my set up:
Sitting on its side
Arctic alumina thermal paste
Tallismoon whisper fans
Little card board things under the rubber feet to keep the console about 1 1/2 inch off the surface
Xbox out in the open, in a cool room.
I have played this thing for at least 6 hours a day in the summer, non-stop. During the week i play it for about 3-4 hours a night, non-stop. And on the weekend for about 11-13 straight and mine is working. _________________

That really sucks both the boxes took a crap on you man. They should've just put the time and $$ into makin a great console that didn't have issues like this. As with Darth though I play mine all the time and have never had anything bad happen. I have upgraded fans, use the same paste darth does, and I got a new case for it and I drilled some small holes in spots you never really see the case also had a round window in the side so I cut a hole in it and stuck an 80mm fan in it and they defenitly helped with the temp. I checked it with an heat gun I have and after everything I did it the temps drop about 15-25 degrees on average it all really depends on the game and how long I played for; at one point it was down almost 35 degrees but it was sitting idle. _________________

True nuff boobs, say that all the time about 3s.
But are you saying that halo3 might be to blame for some of the red rings out there?

i dont really think its halo 3....maybe if u play it too long but from what i understand, they used really cheap parts and labor to build the boxes and what happens is the solder on the inside heats up and melts causing a loose connection which gives ya the red ring of death, at least thats what i read haha....but who knows man, it is Microsoft, after all :d _________________
