Is there any way to have x amount of avi files on a disc and auto launch a player (XMBC) when it is inserted?
Alternatively is anything like Movix possible with the Xbox, an autobooting executable on a disc that when isnerted autoplays any avi file accompanying it on the disc?
More curiosity than anything else, I am quite happy to use XMBC but my better half prefers simplicity and doing her some autobooting disc would mean she doesn`t have to launch and run seperate software

That is a good one.. Not a bad idea..
I dont know of any apps that autoboot avi's.. Well not yet!
Have you looked into python scripts for XBMC..
Why not make a playlist for the avi movies your mrs. wants to watch and then all she has to do is insert the AVI DISC into the XBOX DVD and click on playlists..
Anyway, sorry i couldnt be of more help but i dont know of any app that can help you yet!

So if I wrote a python script the Xbox would show that when the disc was inserted, via XMBC?
I know for pc`s you can get Movix but as I`m typing I`ve had an idea. Perhaps as I have XMBC installed I could include the xmbc default.xbe file on a cdr with an avi and a script saying to run filename x.avi.
If I have my dash set to autorun games then the default.xbe file will be autorun, the script would be read and hopefully play.
Does that sound possible?
