Ok, this is not my xbox, its a friend of my moms at works sons lol. Anyway, they claim it will read the Disc cleaner CD, but will not read any games at all, so i have suggested a new XBOX DVD Drive to them. Tell you what about 6 monts ago i had a 1.4 with samsung 605B dvd player in it, which was like that (not as bad) and i got my self a new laser off of Ebay (only $10.00+shipping) took the old one out put the new one in, it took all of 10 mins to do and it worked like new........
Mabe you could try that ....

Ok i did this to my friends xbox about a week ago and it was simple all his xbox would read were xxx movies so i told him take it in to get looked at cuz he was still under warranty but he said he had already voided the warranty by trying to fix it himself and it didnt work. so i told him to give me his xbox overnight. so i took it home then i took it apart and then pulled out a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol and cleaned the lens. so id try that first cuz those disc cleaning cds work for CD players and some DVD players but not game systems for some reason _________________
