Hey all,
After trying for so long, I finally flashed my TSOP (Winbond W49F020T) with my custom X2 4981 bios
It took soooo long to get it to work, I removed the mobo like 3 times to get those fiddley little bridge points soldered. And then Xflash didn't work, so I ended up using the Eurasia Flash Disc which worked first time!!
I still have the X3 installed though, as I am too fond of its many features, and and on the fly config.
Long story short, I'm REALLY stoked about it
*EDIT (For those that don't know, having a flashed TSOP = modded xbox with no Softmod/Modchip installed ) _________________

do you have a link to the tutorial you used? or did you try it all on your self? if you do, go ahead and add it to the tutorial database if its not there already, as well as link it in here. im sure there are many people that could benifit from a tutorial on this.

Thanks guys
Yeah I didn't really follow a tutorial as such, I just found some pics of the mobo link points, soldered 'em up and then tried a few different things (flash methods, chip in/chip out, softmod to boot with no chip, etc.).
I was actually thinking of writing up a tutorial on TSOP flashing with the Eurasia Pro Disc, based on my own experience. Maybe I'll do it again, and take some hi-res photos to include in the tut.
I might also try a few different flash methods as well, and if they work, write tuts for them as well.
I have seen qiuite a few tuts on this topic, but they were let down by poor photos, hard to follow instructions etc. so I'll try to cover all versions etc. _________________

I always use evox to flash my tsop`s.
I find that it is very easy to download a copy of evox then edit the ini to include every single flash & rom with the copy/paste function on a pc.
It`s definately worth having a full flash enabled evox in your storage somewhere.
also, how did you bridge the gaps?
I find that one of the pairs of pads always
bridges with a bit of solder from the iron and the one closeer to the tsop I always have to use a small bit of wire.

I bridged the gaps with tiny bits if wire. However, I've read there are a few different ways you can do it e.g. Car window defogger repair paint (conductive paint) conductive PCB repair pens, foil etc. I chose to use wire as I figured this would be most reliable/easy to remove.
I didn't think Evox was capable of flashing Winbond devices, hence using Raincoat. Does editing the .ini file with updated flash types allow evox to achieve this? If so I'll have to look into it, as I don't use Evox much. _________________
