A while ago (Jan.ish) I softmodded (Not sure with what or what version, but used action replay and mechassualt) and installed EvoX. WHich, after exploring the forums, is a mistake and would like to change to either UnleashX or XBMC (Or, get XBMC as my dash and have unleashx as a app.)
So.. recently I trying to play a game, and got error21. I did backup my MSdash when I installed the softmod, So I was wondering if I should somehow uninstall evox and the softmod, start off fresh, then use SID4.5 or AID3.0/3(?). But I dont know what the difference is between the two.
So overall, I would like to get rid of evoX (and whatever old version of it and SidorAid im using) and update to a newer version. But really dont understand the difference between SID and AID.
Materials I have to perform this:
Actionreplay mem and cord and program
PC with internet access, cd burner (not a dvd burner)
XBOX and PC ftpd
Xbox softmodded with evox as dash

SID is only a Softmod installer and AID is a whole program that also alows you to softmod, and do much more. AID also has installing xbmc as a choice. so your best bet is to get AID 3 burn the iso into a DVDR throw it in ur xbox and do everything from there

TO make a long story short, you're going to have to resoftmod with what's available on your hard drive now. Error 21's are stupid like that. So what you need to do is, resoftmod (i'm assuming your exploit is still on the HDD), then when you're done with that; toss AID 3 into your xbox and use the good ol' one click installs to upgrade your softmod and dash, just with a few simple clicks of the A button. But I dont have a dvd burner, so I cant make the disk.
But since I have actionreplay and Mechassualt, Ill just use SID. Anybody recommend any other softmod installers thats better? Or just stick with SID4.5 (can I get a dl link for the mechassualt installer)

Don't need a DVD burner to burn AID. It's small enough for a CD-R/W.
The only other SID I can reccomend is SID 3.1. It's less n00b safe and it allows you to modify what you want when you want. If you don't know how, don't do it, or stick with 4.5. Also, 4.5 allows you to go on live after all your modding is done. YES original games are still needed to do so.
