Yesterday, I tried using X-DSL for the first time, but I can't get it to boot/run the livecd(actually A DVD)
I get the loader screen, then it goes through the IDE check , but seems to freeze after identifying the DVD-ROM drive.
I have a DUO-X2 chip with an executer 2 BIOS.
I burned the image to a known compatible DVD media at 4X.
Do I need to use a different BIOS? Cromwell?
Do I have to use a CD? Or maybe it's just a bad burn?
From what I've read, it seems that, once installed, I should just be able to run it as a program. It has a default.xbe, which is why I thought I could run it on any BIOS.
I'm using XBMC as a Dash if that helps?
I would appreciate any insight you might have.

Well, I just installed it as an app as Pirrup suggested and still no dice.
The boot up continues to hang after the DVD-ROM Check.
I tested it on my friend's XBOX, installing as an app using AID, and it works fine.
I noticed that on mine it hangs just before the "cd or etherboot" question appears.
FYI
My friends Specs: V1.6 XBOX, SID 3.0 Softmod, XBMC Dash, Controller S Port 1, DVD Kit Port 4, No Ethernet connection.
My Specs: V1.0a XBOX, Duo-X2 chip, eXecuter 2 Bios, XBMC Dash, Wireless Controller in Port 1, Controller S in Port 3, DVD kit in Port 4, Ethernet Connected to Router using DHCP.
Does anyone have any idea why it works on my friend's XBOX and not Mine?
Thanks,

Ok,
Just in case anyone else is having similar problems, this is what I did to get X-DSL to work.
I unplugged both my wireless controllers and plugged in my original controller S. X-DSL seems to have problems detecting the wireless receivers as "USB Devices".
Also I switched form the HDTV pack to the original Xbox A/V pack.
I don't have a progressive scan television, but I use the HDTV pack to connect to the component inputs on my television. This works great for regular use, but, for some reason X-DSL always tries to boot into progressive mode. Even though all progressive modes are disabled in the MSDASH.
I suspected this was the case as everytime I would try to boot the X-DSL disc the screen would flash and go Blue. I had the exact same thing happen when I accidentally switched my DVD player to progressive mode. So, I switched the A/V pack and voila, I now have linux running on my Xbox
Hopefully, this will help anyone having similar problems.
