I'm getting a significant amount of overscan from my softmoded xbox, mostly top and bottom. I've adjusted the screen in XBMC and it's fine there. The left/right adjustments were around -20 and top/bottom around -110. However, every time another app launches the overscan issue comes back.
Should I crack into my TV's service menu and make adjustments there or is there some soft of lower level adjustment that can be made in the softmod?
Another thought I had was most apps seem to launch in 4:3 SD mode. If I adjust SD mode in XBMC will it apply to these apps?
I'm not sure if the overscan is an issue for games yet.

Hi michaelbudney,
Check your settings in the original M$ Dashboard.. Then double check them in XBMC.. Make sure they are the same.
Ive never had a issues with a softmod or modchip like you mention..
Let us know how you go.. Hopefully its just a settings causing you greif.
Thanks, the original dash is set to 1080 but renders in SD after the mod. Is there an image adjustment there? I don't recall if there was.
I've got XBMC running in 720p since 1080i was a bit jumpy with text. Evox seems to run in 4:3 SD but I can't find and way to adjust that to HD.
I'll mess around a little more and report back the results.

Well, I adjusted all the resolutions in XBMC and now some of the apps, such as DVD2HDD, seem better when the resolution changes. However, games that run through emulation go back to having overscan issues.
I'll try the service menu on my TV to see what's going on. I'm not sure yet if normal xbox games have the issue.
