Pirrup, old buddy, old pal
You're totally appreciated here too, because of you I've learned a few more things myself about softmodding (plus your excellent guide on the HDD upgrade).

i can add what ever help i can to the site. i can do any mod rangeing from tsop, to solder chips, to softmods, so i can help with whatever type of problem anyone has. i've picked up a lot of knowledge this past year and want to repay the hq by helping out some. i've dont around 15 xboxes so far. i'm on the chatroom about 6-8 hours a day and have no job so i have pleanty of time to mess around with my xbox to help other people. i have all three softmod games so that i can help ppl if they have one game or another.
let me know...
thanks
I'm going to forahobby's place tonight so I'll mention you to him, from what you've said to me you sounds like you could be a good candidate, especially since you can offer support on the chatroom aswell (which is always valued).
Either him or myself will reply.
OK I spoke with him last night...
Even though you are showing a lot of promise and motivation, you haven't unfortunately met two small requirements, the amount of time you've been on the site, and the amount of posts.
However we will definately be keeping an eye on you to see how things progress with you in the close future, as I think you could have what it takes, but unfortunately at this time we have to decline on your offer.
Please don't let this decision affect the amount of time and work you put into the site, because these are things that us admins talk about amongst ourselves you know hehe (for example, what newcomers have a lot of skills etc.), and it's also things like this that make our job in saying yes to you being an admin much more easier. The biggest thing that we are worried with though (and we're seeing more and more of it) is when someone does get to Admin Status they just dissappear or hardly help / post anymore.
From what you said earlier, you're willing to spend around 6-8 hours in the chatroom, which is definately something that would be handy for us. This is one of the things that made me think about considering you, because now that the chatroom is finally starting to build up a little, there are more and more ppl coming in asking questions (mainly about softmodding as you would know hehe).
So, da-goat, in conclusion, just keep up the good work you're already doing. Later on down the track if you keep up the good effort and stay active an admin spot will be coming your way..
Regards
DJB

that cool. i figured that my low post count could come back and haunt me. but its no big deal, its not like i could help out anymore than usual if i had the 'admin' status. well ill try later i guess
thanks for considering though

No worries
The reason why I considered was that you do know stuff by the sounds of it, just keep up the good work like you are already

well I have been softmodding for about a year now and know a good bit to help people who are new to it. I recently decided to get a modchip though just to make my life a tiny bit simpler. But I would like to work with the forums so that I may be able to help others who aren't sure what is wrong and how come they are stumped. I am usually on everyday, either in school or right when I get home, so I'm always up to date on the main issues. so plz. consider me for this job. thanx

Rats, I've looked for a bit to find the requirements to become a moderator or admin and I can't find them.
Would either Forahobby or DJB create a thread here that would give the basic requirements to be considered for positions?
A locked specific thread saying something like :
Interested in being a moderator or admin
The requirements that must be met to be considered are:

I believe I remember the only true requirement is showing that you know what you want to admin, either by posting lots of interesting news stories, writing game reviews, or helping out in the forums. It doesn't take much for you guys to get noticed by the other admins, we talk behind your backs and complement a lot of you. Then there are some that we wish would give a bit better information when trying to help, but they are trying, and we won't name names.
Anyways, other than that, we just request that you have atleast 50 posts, these will be reviewed so that we can make sure you didn't basically spam the board, with "me too" or "yeah i agree with xxxxx" and that you really helped out.
Basically, if you want to be an admin/mod just help out around the forums, and we'll notice you. _________________

If you guys need any more help on the Softmod side you can use my expertise. I'm not looking for Admin or Moderator but I would like to help. I wouldn't mind using one of my box's for beta-testing your new software...
I have softmodded over 75 Xbox's
I have 2 box's: One with an Xecuter 2 and the other is a Softmod
I have over 20 extra stock xbox hdd's to play with, although some of them have GentooX on them.
If you look at any of my previous posts you will see that I actually know what i'm talking about (Most of the time)

Hi moddingbandit,
We are still in need of a official XBOX GAMES and SCREENSHOTS admin on HQ.. There job will be to always make sure the XBOXHQ database has all the latest xbox games released with full info about XBOX LIVE how many players, a description and of course the cover..
Also, you could upload screnshots of each game..
If you are interested in that type of thing and would like to help our site in those areas please let me know. Im having trouble writing the site and keeping all the contentn up-to-date..
