Thats right! The prototype is in last stages! Only the external en-casement remains. Xbox-hq will be the only place to find the "Making of" the first xbox portable. All info will be available to VIP members only. Check back often on final product unveiling

This sounds more than interesting. I'm really curious to see how it looks/handles/functions. I can't really imagine how something like that would be possible, but then again, i've seen some pretty extreme mods on here over the past year so I do suppose it is possible. Post some pics ASAP! haha _________________ XBOX v1.6c

awsome to see this, and i asked cause i never heard of MS about this.
and if it's your project, it's homebrew.
HURRAY.
once you get info on it, post asap, i'm kinda interesed on 1, but 1 question for you right now.
hdd.......what's it gonna be, and what are our possiblities of upgrades?
cheers!
EDIT: forgot to ask the following.
since i assume you'll only support 1 player and the controler will become port 1, what about the other ports? are you gonna make 1 of them into a memory card slot?, what about the other 2? would be nice to have the other 2 as usb ports . just a thought _________________ Xbox v1.1

Ok, Ill answer 2 of your questions until "LAUNCH" lol.
1- HDD is laptop HDD. upgrade/expand to what ever you like and pocket can afford on size.
2- 2nd player port will be on unit. This port (with small adapter) can also be used for usb device. What would be the fun in it if you couldnt beat up on friends??????
In all the years i have played xbox, I have never used a memory card..... So I felt no need to install port on this unit. Size matters.... smaller is better. Think thin!!!!!!!!!!!

Minor confusion here. I am not mass producing this unit. I am building/have built 1 unit only. This is my personal xbox portable. When en-casement is finished, I will post pictures, have a video of working unit and an in detail tutoral on the "MAKING OF" only available through XBOX-HQ.COM VIP section at no additional cost. I wish only to share the knowledge with our community. I will happily answer all questions related to design and construction. This unit will be modified greatly including hardware, bios, power supply and physical characteristics. The only recognizable piece of an xbox left is part of the M/B. Due to restrictions of soft-mod, you will not be able to duplicate this unit in that fashion. This is more of a ground up re-design rather than a modification.
I hope this has cleared up any confusion. Check back for updates soon!
