Just wondering? My ice still has the public release beta (red background 2.0). Everything is working fine. Just wondering why should I upgrade to a newer os? Thanks

It allows you to pick skins other than the old red one and also control the led's on the chip and external contector to pulse and other stuff.

I recently looked into this also as I'm running 2.2.1 and wanted to know the differences going to 2.3.0. For me, the only differences were LED color changing, which you loose as soon as you load into a different OS anyway (like Xecuter).
Here is an "unofficial" changelog listed on the Official TeamXodus website. This will show you all of the differences between your current OS version and the latest 2.3.0. I hope it helps in your decision-making process:
