I just installed a chameleon, and I installed it, when I turned it on I got the flashing red light ( I don't know if that is normal or not), then I burnt the cromwell bios onto a cd, and I am pretty sure I did it correctly, but whenever I put a disc in, it says "waiting for drive" and then spits the cd back out....what should I do? any help is greatly appreciated

OKay, lets step thorugh this piece by piece.
First off, your xbox should already have cromwell bios on it after you install the chip. You want to flash it with another bios to get this working. YOu can find the other bios' in our VIP downloads section or by searching them on the web.
Better off you might just want to get DJB's xbox-hq auto installer, as it will do everything for you. Bios, HDD setup, apps, and much more.
I got a lil different question for ya, where did you still find a chameleon modchip, my buddy wants one but I havent been able to find them?
Good luck. _________________ XBOX v1.0:

We love our noobs here. We all know that we were once one and well, myself, I'm not that far past one. So ask anything you wish, and we'll answer it to our best abilities.
I use the M7 bios, many other poeple like the d7 or the xecuter bios'. ITs pretty much preference on your part. The bios can be found in our vip downloads section or by searching online.
I would recomend becoming a vip member, a $10 donation to the site gets you so many extras, hard to find downloads, bit torrents, vip chat, support tickets and much more. I havent met a single vip person that hasnt loved their membership.
Anyways, good luck, and ask me anyhting if you need any more help. _________________ XBOX v1.0:

ok, I have another question, how can I make the dummy file when making a bios cd. How do I make it big enough, I don't know how to make multiple files into one.

Just add a folder that contains a bunch of MP3's or something. I have heard that 50mb should cover it.
The reason you need the dummy file is because the bios is typically a very small file and sometimes the xbox drive won't pick it up unless something larger exists on the disk.

Hey everyone, boy have I been up late for the past week. I cannot figure the stupid thing out, I have a Thompson DVD drive, and I am using memorex cd-rw's. I follow the instructions exactly, I am trying to use x2.4983 bios, and I can't seem to get the stupid thing to work with my chameleon modchip. Whenever I put the burnt cd into the DVD drive on my xbox, it just says "waiting for drive" for about 30 sec. then spits out the cd. I need some help plz

Hey, I've been experencing the same porblem with my chameleon. I havent been able to get it to accept a new bios.
What I recomend is to get djb's xbox-hq auto installer and attempt to do it that way, it believe its option number five, and you also get to pick between several different bios'.
I have the m7 on mine and it seems to work fine. the m7 is an older bios from Evox.
Good luck, and persistance sometimes prevails, with the thompson dvd drive soemtimes you just have to give it to it enough times for it to take it. _________________ XBOX v1.0:
