This seems to be another installer all-together, not mine, so I don't really care if ppl make money from it, just aslong as it's not mine they're selling.
To all the ppl that have submitted the links and names, I have contacted the ebay sellers requesting immediate removal, so I'll see what happens.
Thanks to you all being ebay cops for me, hehe.

EDIT: Here was a note I was about to send some people.
UPDATE: Apparently Bad idea. Thx, The Boss.
But you would figure they are selling and infringing on someone else's intellecutal property. I would be at fault for letting people know they are buying freely licensed merchandise. Also, they interfere with the GNU-PL Free software license.
I guess both could be at fault. _________________ XBOX v1.6

I am the seller jmlmomma. The first couple of auctions I listed, did in fact contain the aid 2.0 disk. Until I was emailed by a few people who set me straight. I then made my own evox installer, and provided that instead. The softmod was not sid3.0.
You guys are talking about making a profit. Let me break it down -dvd $1, shipping/packing $2.20, ebay fees $2, paypal fees $1, that's already $6.20. Now if I spend 3 hours on msn helping somebody mod thier box, or fix their screw ups, that's less than $5 per hour for my time. Now let's add in an extra $3.20 for everybody that didn't receive their dvd to ship a new one. Now add in the paypal chargebacks, there's a lot of them, simply because people didn't read the auction description. So, there was not much profit to be made.
I wasn't doing this to get rich quick, I actually got the idea from xbox-scene, because a lot of people didn't understand how to softmod, so I put together a noob-proof guide. When people asked where I got the info from, I told them. People even asked for certain files/programs, and I gave it to them.. All for free. I wasn't hiding anything. I even shipped off a few dvd's for free. Anyways I stopped selling it. I emailed ebay and told them it was against ebay policies, and asked them to cancel my listing and remove it and all my other completed listings completely because I didn't want people emailing me about it.. Unfortunately, they couldn't remove the completed listings, so I am still receiving 50 emails a day about it. This whole experience has been more of a hassle than anything...
Seriously, this whole thing is no different than xbox-hq requiring you to be a vip member to get downloads, I am sure a lot of those downloads are somebody else's work. Of course you can say the fee is to keep the website running, just like my fee was to keep me on msn. Same shit, different pile.
If you guys want to bitch at me about this please email me at jmlmomma@hotmail.com there is no need for a bunch of useless posts in this topic.
If you want to end all the auctions on ebay, then I suggest you do this
1. find all the auctions that contain auto-installers, or any xbox hack and make a note of the item #
2. Make a post on this forum with all the item #'s you could find, and pick a time for everybody to email ebay using the listing violation link.
3. Sit back and laugh at how fast all the auctions are ended. Mass emails make ebay respond faster.
Anyways, I apologize to DJB for using his auto-installer without his permission. As soon as all the chargebacks are resolved, I will be donating the profits made from the auctions containing the aid2.0 to xbox-hq.

shortacid: I would say that that's a good idea, but interfering with auctions, whether you agree with them or not, and regardless of ebay listing policies will get you suspended from ebay. They don't even give yoiu a warning.
I'll bet that at least one of the sellers is a member of this site, and is monitoring this thread. So it would be pretty easy to report you for interfering with auctions.

Noted and changed TheBoss, luckily, that was posted before I could send the email letter. My browser kept timing out this morning.
So those ebay sellers won't track anything, and I could have left it up.
But I chose to take it down.
Plus, I am not scared of losing ebay. I have bought 4 items in my 3 years with an account. I can stand to live without it if it had to. _________________ XBOX v1.6

TheBoss,
Apology accepted.
One thing TheBoss did do was actually communicate to me via the ebay messagesystem, unlike others that just ignore me. Also, the fact that he has made his own system aswell is respectable, since I know first-hand how much of a bitch they can be to put together.
I'm glad you actually did come forward here too, as this would take some guts. It's also good that you understand where we come from with this (like you explained in your email to me earlier). Just like Shortacid said earlier in this post, about the GNU-GPL Free software license, most of the software on the AID 2 (90% of it roughly exclusing the MS dash) is all homebrew (public domain) software. The only little illegality about it is that the XDK had to be used to compile them, but this is something I think MS is turning a blind eye to at this time.
Also, thanks for trying to help us with ebay sellers. I'm sure that half of them don't really understand why we get annoyed about it, but most do after a "polite" email from myself explaining that the software is actually free to download for anyone (that's the biggest hurt I think, ppl making ppl pay for something that can be easily downlaoded for free).
Just like yourself I haven't made next-to-no money from doing the AID and SID installers, which is a shame coz I've nearly a whole year working on this project (I started making AID 1.0 in September 2004). However I do thank the people who have generously donated a few dollars here and there, it all goes to a Xbox 360 for myself so I can continue hacking hehe.
That's about all I have to say about this for the moment. Have fun
He's got 8 bids so far on it, it's standing at £10.49 as of now.
Someone do the honours on this lamer please.

Delt with? Planning on stopping by there house or something, because there is not much else you can do.
This site isnt much better, they force a donation to just access the servers which hold the software. Why not just make it a option, instead of forcing it apon the members. Xbox-scene has survived all this time without forcing anything apon anybody.
You could host SID on xbins and anything that is big can be shared via bittorent.
Dont turn a blind eye to your own money making ways... and I hardly believe all the so called DONATIONS *all* go towards the site.
Dont get me wrong, I like this site and gave a donation, but I do see it could of been different and the site still could survive.

All knowing sir, perhaps you over look the fact that Xbox-scene is fully funded by advertisers, doesn't offer sh*t for downloads including Auto Installer and the servers we provide are for the benefit of our VIP's because they choose to donate. All donations indeed go toward site hosting plus when we can prizes for contests. You can find auto installer for free on the bit torrent sites, so there is no coercion here. And since you brought it up, exact where else are you saying that the donations go since your statement is that not all of it goes toward the site? Perhaps you have an inside track with a nice receipt showing that Forahobby and DJB (who made the Auto Installer) are going out and hitting bars? As far as your first sentence regarding what one can do to deal with those that choose to profit from software that clearly states it's not to be sold, there is plenty but you apparently can't figure out what else can be done. Another thing, if we decided to charge for the software, it would be within our right since we developed it. Besides, it's not for you to worry about since you had nothing to do with the software or it's testing. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Xbox-scene is funded by advertising, so? Nothing wrong with that, it does not depend on it's members to pay for there bills.
99% of what you do here is because of xbox-scene and there community, without xbox-scene you would not be here now. But you can't even give them a link in your link section... Not to mention everything news wise seem's to be leached from xbox-scene.
You give your donator's first access to your releases and later share it via bittorent, xbox-scene would just throw it on xbins for everyone to get asap, no funny bussiness. There download's are legal unlike yours... You do host illegal content on your ftp and http servers.
I only say that the donations do not all go towards the site for one reason. if you have 100 VIP members who donated $10, that's $1000. I hardly believe your bills are $1000 a year, not to mention you have more then 100 VIP members. So where could all the money be going.... Who knows sence there is no tracking being done or atleast being shown.
And as far as your comment about software testing, Ive did plenty of testing over at xbox-scene which helped in your projects one way or another. Ive been a member there for year's now. So sence you developed a script which is used mainly by Unleashed, you feel it is your right to charge for it? Right.....
Your just giving your site less creditbility... with usesless comments.

Man, you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground. Just plain "Ignant"
Like shark said...BIT TORRENT, just b/c you can't figure out how it works, doesn't mean its not free.
Then, the stuff on the VIP has the items from Xbins AS WELL AS THE SOFTWARE created AND (freely distributed along other means) by DJB and Forahobby, these servers were created for members not to familiar with ICQ/IRC or just plain don't care to venture outside this portal to go to get software.
Its a choice. I personally feel you wasted your 10 dollars if thats the attitude you take. Thats the XS attitude. Don't give a shit about no one. look at their deep pockets, they don't put dime one back into the site, just enough to keep it going and make more money. Forahobby tirelessly codes for this site creating, as opposed to using a cookie cutter PHP code.
Now, why don't you see for yourself if its free or not.
Look for the words BIT TORRENT , better yet you need a guiding hand, http://www.aideluxe.com/index.php?cmd=downloads (.) PERIODs, form of punctuation, used to show and end of a statement/sentence. added for the child
Do you see how ignorant you can sound when you don't think before you speak.
Ok. Now, if someone took YOUR intellectual Property, I know, you won't have to ever worry about it, but if you DID, you wouldn't want some f#&@-nut sellling it for a profit on ebay or what not. Its freeware, how you go about downloading is another story.
So don't come into this forum, disrespecting the owners and owners of SAID intellectual property, go to XS.
I don't get this mean/derogatory (spelling?) to everyone, but you insult them you insult me. Take care in your words, because help is the last thing you might get from this place.
