I have a x-bit and flashed with the evox M8 bios I had no problem flashing or installing it via the pogopin install. I have everthing fully installed using slayers evox installer 2.6. However when i turn the chip off to play on xbox live my xbox starts itself 2 times and turns off and then on the third time it frags. If i remove the chip it works fine. I checked the DO and its not broke neither are any tracers. How do I fix this? Thanks for your help!

Are you using M8_16 bios? Do you have a 1.6 version motherboard? If so, did you do an lpc rebuild?
The fragging can be due to your install, bad chip, or bad bios flash. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

I'm Using a v1.0 xbox with the evox M8 offical 256mb bios. It works fine when the chip is enabled. I can play emulators and back up game perfectly. The problem comes when I disable the chip and try to play on xbox live.

When the chip is disabled it just powers on and off twice and then on the third time it stays on but frags. Its the v1.0 to 1.5 bios not the v1.6 bios.

OIC, I was assbackwards. I thought you had the frag when enabled and ran fine when disabled. That has got to be the strangest thing I have ever heard of!!!
Power cycle and frag when chip disabled, and runs great when enabled. Since it runs smoothly when the chip is removed it's safe to say your motherboard is okay. I wish I knew how the chip disables itself. If you possibly had another chip to pop on the pin header and try I would be curious to see what happens. Always learning new issues in the modding arena. This is the first I have ever heard of this issue at all.
Please keep us posted. I am hoping this may have happened to someone and they can chime in. Or, someone has better knowledge of the inner workings of the chip and they can shed some light on why it's failing or even if there are multiple reasons why something like this can happen.
My bet is the chip is bad. It's not disabling proplerly. Perhaps it's booting to a bank that is not flashed instead of allowing the mobo to boot from the TSOP? That's the only thing I can think of. I would maybe wipe the chip clean and start all over to see what happens. I would then try a different chip...otherwise you are stuck removing it everytime you want to game on XBL.
Just out of curiousity and sorry to jump off the beaten path, but have you upgraded your HD? Just wondering since I want to see if you squeak past MS and not get banned with the larger HD.
Good luck solving your issue. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter
