How do you mean "find the file" ??
If you want to know where it stored them, it was in /F:/Music/
[R] 257 "/F:/Music" is current directory.
Was that what you meant?

I meant if I actually could locate the file in the directory and view the file on my tv set. Seems that I am always encountering unexpected problems..so I did`nt take for granted that I would find the file where i transferd it to, and be able to view it before I had tested
Made three new folders, F:/Music, Movies, Pictures... and the are all fully viewable and running..!
Next project is to get IRC running and beeing able to download skins etc from my Xbox..

Now, to use them, you have to upload them to the skins directory for avalaunch. Let's say for example you have Avalaunch stored at F:\Apps\Avalaunch on your Xbox...
The Skins folder is inside another folder called Media, so it looks like this:
F:\Apps\Avalaunch\Media\Skins\
Now, make sure that your skin is unzipped and in a folder, then upload it to this folder mentioned...
Now you should be able to select multiple skins...
Now, IRC..
You have to make sure that you have all the right IP's / Gateway / DNS configurations in your avalaunch.xml file (or you can edit it through the dash itself I think). If it's not, IRC won't be able to connect obviously. There's also a section in the .xml file which will let you set up the irc server you want, the nickname you want, and I'm pretty sure also the channel you want to join. Sorry, haven't really played with IRC much on Avalaunch...
Hope this info helps....
BTW, the earlier thanks is appreciated, still I'm just doing my job

Thx DJB, u rock! _________________ <o>

Yea I must agree with you, that skin is quite nice Even though I don't really use Avalaunch I'll still grab it on principle that it's one of the nicest true Xbox-styled Skins I've seen.
With IRC, just make sure that you have internet connection sharing working on your PC and Xbox. THere are some tutorials about it right here and lots of other places all over the net.
Good luck mate

Hi, I try everything mentioned above to ftp my xbox but all in vain
The problem is that I bought a pre-modded xbox with evox installed. I cant access evox menu. When I turn on xbox, I see this evox animation and then the normal xbox menu. When I insert a game I see the EvoX logo above 'X' splash for like 5 seconds and thats it. There is no EvoX existing. Do you guys suggest to install this? http://www.torrentspy.com/search.asp?mode=torrentdetails&id=88851
Evox 1.25 autoinstaller??? will it do any good and will I be able to connect easily? I connect xbox to my router and I see them both giving green lights but I am unable to figure out the I.P. address of my xbox. i tried the TCP/IP settings and everything. Thanks and sorry but this was a kinda long read.

Posted: Tue May 24, 2005 4:52 am Post subject: How to setup your XBOX ready for FTP
Hi guys,
Its really very simple to setup your xbox and any pc to transfer files via FTP or share the PC's internet connection.. Im going to quickly go through some basic stuff..
heres goes.
There are normally 2 ways to connect your xbox to another PC network:
1. XBOX --->>> PC (Active Direct Connection)
eg. You should be using a CROSS OVER cable if you have this setup.
If you do not use a crossover cable your xbox and pc will not be able to communitcate.
2. XBOX --->>> ROUTER/HUB/SWITCH --->>> PC (Passive connection)
eg. You should be using a standard NETWORK CABLE if you have this setup..
kk.. So now you all know about the cable requirements..
Make sure you have the correct cable for your setup!
Heres how to setup your xbox on the same network as your pc
so you can transfer files and share the internet etc. etc.
Get your PC ip address information:
1. Choose 'Start Menu' and then choose 'Run'
2. type 'cmd' for winxp or 'command' on win98/me etc and press enter
3. type 'ipconfig /all' and press enter
4. You will now be shown all your IP INFO..
You will notice that my PC's IP Address is 192.168.0.1..
So all i have to do is give my xbox a ip address in the same range with the same subnet. So what i would do is this.
Just pick 192.168.0.2 for my xbox as i have no other pcs on my network.
You couuld really use any number between 2 and say 99 to stay under your router.. It really depends if you have other machines on the network or not.
heres my xbox ip info:
ip: 192.168.0.2
subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.100 <<-- my router.. I have option #2. If you were using a crossover cable you woulud change this to say '192.168.0.1' which is your main pc's ip which would be sharing the internet.
DNS Servers: 203.12.160.35 <<--- this is what will give you internet access if you have internet sharing turned on or a router sharing the internet like i do..
If you dont have a router and you want to share the internet from your main pc.. Just turn on ICS (internet Connection Sharing) and it will give your computer a ip of 192.168.0.1 and then you can give you xbox 192.168.0.2
anyway, sorry if im confusing you all but im just not with it today.
Hey I saw that someone gave you there computer stats....ip etc.... and i was wondering if you could do the same for me if i give them u give me what i need to type in my settings.....i am direct connecting and have evox dashboard and crossover cable. Thanks
