I just got my X3CE in and now I am ready to load my Auto Installer. I have wasted about 4 dvd-r's or dvd+ and still cannot get it to boot of of the disc. I have read until I am blue in the face. I have tried every program that has been suggested in the VIP area and here. I am new to XBOX modding but something just isn't right. I have a 1.4v and just finished installing the X3. Any help on how to get it to boot would greatly be appreciated. I must be overlooking something. I have the older AID 1.0 and the newer AID101 but it will not unzip correctly.

It should be a matter of just taking the ISO, and burning it through DVD decrypter.
1. Unzip the package, and put the iso on the desktop
2. Download dvd decrypter (www.google.com Search: dvd decrypter)
3. Put a dvdr in the drive, and when it comes up with some window, just click cancel.
4. Drag the iso onto dvd decrypter icon on the desktop. DVD Decrypter will open up.
5. in dvd decrypter there's an image at the bottom that shows a hard drive then an arrow -----> over to a cdrom drive. Click that button.
Sit back and enjoy. Please let me how you did it before, i'd be interested to know so that we can help you out better. _________________ Brandon Cossette

O.K. I followed your instructions to a "T" and nothing happened. I just got my X3CE up and running yesterday. I have not touched anything. This is what I get when I turn on my XBOX.
Enable network flashing
Load Bios from HDD
Load Bios from CD
Unlock HDD
Lock HDD
I have not touched any switches at all. The external switch has 5 dips and all are on the off position right now. I have made too many coasters. This XBOX is a V 1.4. It will not always boot from the original bios and that is why I decided to try my luck with the X3. I also tried all the test booting sequences and all passed. I am just missing something that I cannot get my finger on....

okay first is first then. Have you installed a hacked bios yet? The chip will come with a bios loaded already, but this is just so that you can upgrade to a different bios. The bios loaded on the chip WILL NOT allow hacked microsoft code.
First go get a hacked bios. (if you need help with this, i need your xbox version)
Let me know where you are on this stuff. Once you have this done, it's just a matter of popping in the cd I helped you make above. The first thing you need is a hacked bios!

Ok. I got a tutorial on the X2 bios and made a disc from that. I did manage to flash the X3 but only had the 1st dip set to on. Should I of had all 4 dips on?

Have you read the manual that took me weeks to write yet?

Not only have I read it I have it laminated in a small binder book all by itself. It is just overwhelming to a newbie that hasn't enjoyed what the XBOX is capable of delivering yet. My only question for now is what exaclty does unlocking and locking your harddrive do? And by the way, FANTASTIC job on writing the manual.......

Locking the hard drive allows you to use the ms dashboard (I think).
If you just want to boot a hacked dashboard from your modchip you should be ok. but I'd still do it anyways just to be sure.
BTW, I printed and binded the first draft I did of this, it did look really really nice
