I apologize in advance for my ignorance. This is my first attempt at modding an xbox. I thought I was a smart person but it turns out I was very wrong.
I've got a v1.0 xbox with a Thomson DVD Drive and a factory HDD. I have installed a Xenium ICE using the solderless adapter. The solderless adapter was a mistake in itself, but that's another story. I am currently running Xenium OS2.
I have tried to burn the iso for the autoinstaller about 20 times now. I have tried to burn it with Nero 6, CloneDVD2, and Roxio Recordnow. I have tried all three programs with the following media:
TDK DVD-R
Maxell DVD-R
OptoDisc DVD+R
Verbatim DVD+R
Imation CD-RW
I have burned each attempt at the slowest setting I could use (DVD's 1x and CD-RW 4x). My xbox will not recognize any of the discs. The funny thing is that I have used the same CD-RW to load EvoX 3935 already. I just downloaded the auto-installer last night using bit torrent. I am at a loss and very frustrated...please help!
try Memorex DVD-RW or DVD+RW my thompson drive read both of those, Nero should do it maybe try DVD decrypter.
with the disc in the Xbox try turning off, start it up see if it reads it or while Xbox is on open dvd drive close dvd drive, try each of these methods till it reads the damm thing maybe clean the Xbox's drive eye that worked for a peep _________________ XBOX ver.1

Thats extremely odd. I have used TDK DVD-R's and use CloneDVD2 exclusively for burning my .iso files
What bios are you running and what chip do you have? It's just odd that you have tried so many and failed. I have even used generic SpinX (14.95 per 100 DVD-R's) and the Thompson reads them fine. I even use CompUSA's generic brand of -r's. I only use -R's never +R as I have problems with those the most.
PM me your mailing address. I'll send you one of mine. I am wondering if it's something else possibly. I can give you a known good working AI that I have used in tons of Thompsons, Phillips, and Sammys. Is this your only Xbox??
If not, try swapping out drives and see if the other drive gives you problems. When using CloneDVD2 its very easy, you first un'rar the .rar file and you are left with your .iso
Then, open clonedvd2 and select, write existing data. Choose your speed (I always go maximun even) and then choose your file and burn. I am wondering if there is a problem with your installer. Corrupt maybe? Doubtful, but it seems you are doing everything right.
Like I said, PM me and I'll shoot you a disk. Not sure where you are at but I can only send to the states.
