Use this application at your own risk!
USB FATX Formatter by LegendaryFire

USB XFAT Formatter Download

There are a few VERY easy steps to get it working..

1) Format the USB stick as FAT32 or FAT... About 15 seconds into the format, unplug the USB drive.

2) You should get a message saying the format could not be completed...

3) Plug the USB stick back into the computer, the USB drive should be corrupted... This is a good thing... If you are still able to access your USB drive without reformatting it, then redo steps one and two..

4) Open the USB XFAT Formatter, be sure you have found the correct USB drive and hit "Format USB", wait for it to finish and your USB drive should then be formatted as XFAT!

If all the steps were followed and you have a compatible USB drive, then it should be detected in your xbox console!

I can confirm this sucker works. I tested with a 512MB SD and USB reader on Win7 32bit.

You may want to edit your description LegendaryFire XFAT and FATX are 2 totaly seperate file systems Wink

And you are now the first entry in the contest for the modded XBOX

I know this is an old thread, but for anyone in the future who tries to use this program to format a USB, if you get the Unhandled Error message when trying to launch the exe, turn on Windows 7 Compatibility mode, and check Run as Administrator. These things got the program working for me.

There has been a new FATXplorer in development for some time. It is still not finished and will be paid for software (currently $25 lifetime) but you can trial it for a week even at this stage.
