Hello, I recently bought an xbox 1.6 with the xenium ice chip. It came with I think os 2.0 and updated it to the 2.2.1 I believe. But I would love to update it to the release version as I believe the version I have is the beta version. And the 2.3.0 version on this site won't extract or work when I burn it to a cdr.

xbins ftp server - the usual place!
Or, there's now an online backup of the ftp server. Try here.
P.S. I only find XOS221.rar. Where's 2.3.0 on xbox-hq.com?
Edit: Oh, I found them - Xos230hd.rar and Xos230iso.rar. They are under the Main/Dashboards/Xenium OS section, not in the downloads Main/BIOS/Xenium section.

If there is a particular reason you need that version, I can't help. However I have more or less universal version that works with all Xenium chips. If you choose so, you can even use the chip to mod the box, then switch it to softmod and remove chip to use for multiple boxes. I find it to work well and for lack of a better term, foolproof way to mod. I'm sure there are a million people who disagree. I just feel comfortable that way knowing I will never brick a box. The only time I've ever left a chip in was building my portable Xbox that runs without DVD drive on camcorder battery. Was a joint venture with my buddy Been Heck. Been did the CNC cutting for me on the case. _________________ XENIUM ICE 300GIG CUSTOM DVD

The xbins server is exactly what I needed to find the file I needed. And you need to be vip to this site to get the 2.3.0 version. I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to be VIP as it could be useful in the future. Also I'm kinda living a dream of having a mod chipped xbox as I could have it when I was younger and currently waiting for my Xecuter X3 Modchip to come that I found on ebay used for $169. I really don't know if that's a good deal and if I could pull my current chip out of the 1.6 Xbox or I'll have to find an older xbox for better plug and play or not.

Thats really cool what you've done and thats really smart idea. However I will never try to hard mod a 1.6 version xbox again as I'm horrible with soldering.

Well funny story about that I ordered an aladin chip and tried to solder I end up breaking the board half in frustration. And found a xbox on ebay with the xenium chip and since I still had a lock hdd I was able to unlock the hdd after digging in my closet for a dvd backup from 2005 with the oridinal eeprom and flash it to the chip to unlock my 400gb hdd with all my games. Pure luck
