You exceeded table limits, no big deal. Set XBPartioner to 64k and keep partitions below 999GB. Should be easy you gotta make 2 partitions and 10GB (minus overflate is already gone)

That's what I did. I cant figure out how to fix it now since the xbox wont boot.

I kept doing 2 926gb partitions and and it would still not give me a G drive so I tried 2 900 and 1 smaller and that's when it locked up on me...

Do you have an older PC with IDE ports and a copy of the eeprom? If so Id suggest using XBOXHDM/Babylon 2 to rebuild the C, E, X,Y,Z partitions and try again with XBP.

The only other option would be if you still have the original HDD try using CHIMP to do a total rebuild of the 2TB

Was going to do that then I dropped the harddrive. For future reference is there a guide to setting up a 2tb?

You are using XBPartitioner 1.3 and not a previous buggier version?

Two (2) Xbox 2TB SATA Upgrade Tutorials
The first at XBMC4Xbox titled, XBOX 2TB SATA Upgrade Tutorial. Where it mentions XBPartitioner 1.0 and 1.1, use XBPartitioner 1.3 instead.

And a second tutorial at reddit.com.

Although, I'd skip their part about modifying the size of E:\. Use XBPartitioner 1.3 to split the extra space into 2 - 927GB extended partitions 6 (F:\) and 7 (G:\) formatted with 64KB cluster size.

80-Wire 40-pin IDE cable REQUIRED!
When using a SATA drive with adapter, you need to replace the 40-wire/40-pin Xbox IDE cable with an 80-wire/40-pin IDE cable. Search eBay for "ASUS 24" 80-wire 40-pin IDE cable". Trying to use a shorter standard length 18-19" 80-wire cable creates another hassle one can do without.

Even with a 24" cable, installation requires a few extra twists to get it to fit. The Xbox has the HDD connector protruding from the opposite side of the cable. The cable also has to be turned end-on-end. The short section normally between the two drives is now used to connect to the MB and DVD drive. And, the connector normally plugged into the MB connects to the SATA adapter.

Excellent advice. ^

Chimp261812, latest version, will format the extended partitions correctly now too.

What I'm not sure about is why the Xbox crashed after just formatting F:\ and G:\. Is this typical when the partition limits are accidentally exceeded during formatting? That's something I've not read about before.

I guess with a possibly now damaged 2TB HDD this is moot but whilst it depends on the error and actual cause of the error I would have tried cold booting an installer or rescue disc and disabling F:\ and G:\.

Maybe safer would have been to use HeXEn or, probably better now, Rocky5's Xbox Softmodding Tools (assuming it is a softmod) and reformatting, installing a new better protected softmod from scratch.

Yeah when you exceed table limits or format at the wrong allocation it will corrupt the drive. Get crashes, files dissapear or ghost files (they show in file manager but arent really there)
