I need some help moving a hdd from my dead (power supply failure) softmod Xbox to another working softmod Xbox.

I have the eeprom for both Xbox's

I used XBOXHDM to unlock the drive but I don't know how to lock the drive
with the working softmod Xbox's eeprom.

I need some guidance on how to lock this hdd.

Thanks

wouldn't it be easier to just replace the power supply?

Thanks KenM-64

So I can unlock the drive fine with the current eeprom (dead xbox).

I tried locking the hdd drive like the video explained but when i try to lock
the hdd drive with the different eeprom from the working xbox softmod it says the eeprom.bin file can not be found.

Is there a way to put a different eeprom on a hdd without reformatting the whole hdd?

I ask because its a 500 GB hdd and I don't want to erase everything on it.

Thanks

I had that same problem, "Eeprom" was capitalized on the Xbhdm disc so
Put the eeprom.bin file from the Xbox you are locking the drive to on a floppy disc and get it to find it that way, lockhd -a it will also ask to look at floppy if it can't find it on disc.
Or make another xbhdm boot CD disc with just the eeprom.bin on it and chose option 3 to lock.

Hope this helps man and you get your Xbox working again.

Thanks KenM-64 Very Happy

I put the eeprom.bin file on a floppy like you said and it locked the drive with the working softmod Xbox eeprom.

My 500 gb hdd is now running great in the working softmod Xbox.

Thanks!
