I can't stand when you join a message board and your told to search for something when your asking them help, obviously you don't know what to search for if your asking questions. Not that I'm lazy with it or anything but I generally have no idea where to or what to search for sometimes even when I do search for example I get crap results.

The reason you get told "search it" is because we like people to at least try to solve their issue before assisting. Add to that in general many people dont even want to try but rather have it done for them. An excellent example is when Im pointing someone to one of my tuts and give the exact name or say its in the list of most recent on the home page and they come back and say they couldnt find it you know they just want someone to hold their hands. Also as Im sure you know already I pretty much do the support here on my own, Wes213 Hobbs, RealHypnotix, Darth and User1 along with other staff members try to help when they can but theyre swamped as well on the 360 site. Plus we all have jobs on top of this and just dont have the time to go searching for stuff for people all the time.
I make my tuts for a reason, to help people help themselves. A secret to finding them is sort by most recent, sort by author, or click on the letter H, since most of my tuts start with "How To". When someone says more info, its a logical request that you could provide what exploit was used, what dash you use etc. Same with "search it" then come talk to me, you put in the effort even if its only symbolic it goes a long way.
