Thanks user1 will do! can I access the xbox 120gb in anyway after I have removed it maybe via xbmc live cd in my pc or any other live cd or application ? Or shall I just copy the files I want from the drive before removal via ftp? Gonna be a sharp learning curve lol!
FTP is probably your best option for backing stuff up ...... Theres a program called xplorer360 that might access your harddrive if you hook it up to one of the IDE cables in your PC (unlock your hard drive first). _________________

Hey sapinin bro's!
RE: tURNovERFrOmROvER ...ya sweet man put your 1.5TB in the box it'l be sick as a NAS dude! ya ive heard alota dudes having domestics with data overwriting, corupting, blah blah blah aswel..i think it comes down too an adapter compatibility problem from my point of view dude..think i was just lucky with the choice i made aswel as there were 5 different kinds i looked at..the only reason i chose this one was because it fit perfectly snug in the space behind the drive itself without being a niusance or me having to modify anything... as long as you have the exact adapter that i have you'l have no issues at all garanteed! but goodluck even though your not guna need it brO lol
RE: UsER1 ...ya install runs like a dream! i was experimenting with cluster sizes lastweek used the 32 cluster the 1st time i installed spread over F&G so i thought il try the 64 with just one big ass F drive (why was i doin this when it runs perfect already you ask?) well.. i was trying to see if i could suck a few more lost gigs outa the hardrive..but alas to no avail lol but i can live with that so its all good
One last thanks to all the katz on here who helped me out with this - cheers!
Its good to hear of your success ........ Im not sure of the mathematics behind things but 1TB isnt the actual size, if you wanted 1TB the hdd would be 1024GB - as its 1TB its about 930GB or something like that ..... Google it, my brain hurts. _________________

I'm no expert, but I had massive data corruption when I first installed my 750gb ide drive. Something to do with Linux limitations. If you don't install the partitions and clusters correctly it also causes issues.
I lost a ton of data till I got it right.
I've been looking for a 1tb ide without success... but if I can do a sata to ide conversion without data corruption - the 2tb's look good.
Can anyone else chime in before I lose 2tb worth of data?
