Hi Guys,
I'm new to modding Xboxes and this is my first post.
Got a problem and wondering if I could get some advice please? Just recently I decided I wanted to install a modchip in my v1.1 Xbox. This went well and am now running an Xecuter 3CE with an X3 3294 Bios. Next thing I wanted to do is change the dashboard and a bigger hard drive. After a bit of research I came across AID 4.5 final. I thought I'd try this first before changing the drive. Downloaded the torrent and decided just to burn the iso using Imgburn, at the slowest speed possible, to DVD-R and CD-RW's. Neither of these worked. Ok, must be the media type as I've got a Philips DVD Rom in my Xbox. Tried different media, no joy there. Xbox would boot but would not recognise any of the discs I threw at it.
As a test I downloaded a copy of EvolutionX dashboard build 3935, burnt this to the same type of DVD-R I used previously, which included a 500mb dummy file. Booted the Xbox up and up popped the Evox dash from disc. I went through the same process with the AID 4.5 iso, added a dummy file and still it refused to boot with the Xbox saying that the disc was not recognised. I assuming now that I have a problem with the AID 4.5 iso; has anyone had this problem before?
I've looked through the forums for some help and nothing has jumped out with the same issue I have. I'm going to try and get an older version of AID and see if I have the same problem. I'm probably doing something stupid but a gentle noob-nudge would be appreciated Cheers! _________________ XBOX v1.1

1 suggestion i have is to you is to try DVDDecrypter as it does the job VERY well!!!!
Also, you know for a fact your modchip is running fine?
I will give DVDDecrypter a try when I get work from work tonight. Yes, my chip is working fine as far as I can tell as I'm able to boot up into the chip and navigate through all the menus, i.e. X3 Config, Disk Tools, EProm Tools, etc. Also managed to squeeze another 1.98gb out of the disk as my F: so I'm pretty sure everything is working ok. I'm a bit surprised really as I haven't done any major soldering in years _________________ XBOX v1.1

Alright, have now sorted what the problem was......me! It appears I need to have a bit more patience while waiting for AID to boot from DVD-R. As a test I got an ISO of XMBC and burnt this; this worked and booted much quicker that AID (at least on my Xbox). I created another AID disc and left it longer to boot this time....it worked!
Thank you everyone who responded with suggestions, it has been very much appreciated. Going off to play with the new dash I installed and then the next thing to look at is a bigger drive. Cheers Guys! _________________ XBOX v1.1
