This is an awesome site/forum you have. I haven't been able to use my XBOX for a long time and I still have Build
XBMC.CVS.1.18.05-hDy on my box. Using your directions in your XBMC SVN guide will I be able to upgrade sucessfully? After unraring the newer SVN builds I only see default.xbe. Besides the normal folders I have the following files listed in E:\
default.xbe
FileZilla Server.xml
kai-vectors.xml
keymap.xml
splash.restore.bat
xbmc.log
xbmc.old.log
XboxMediaCenter.xml
It's been a long time since I've messed with any of this stuff so your help will be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the XBOX-HQ, we hope you enjoy this and all the other HQ sites we have to offer.
If you have a soft mod and get the new T3CH build it will come with a shortcut file and with that you can use the guide under my Sig to update.
If you need any help with a specific topic let me know and i will post back asap.
Might take me a little bit since i been helping my folks allot lately but i will get to it within 24 hours.

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I should have told you that my box was hard modded by a friend of mine in 2004 with the executer chip. He has since moved away and I have a working CVS build on the box now. I also have the same CVS version stored on my computer. Using the newest SVN build, I have tried to overwrite the one on the box with no success and I've tried a fresh install to E:/Apps/XBMC also with no success. I think the problem (from everything I'm reading) is any versions I can find aren't compiled to correctly work on the box. I'm wondering if the guide under your sig will fix that.
Once again, Awesome site and thanks again for you help.

Yes the guide should let you install a newer version, you just need to be able to switch to a different dash since the xbox wont let you remove a dash while you are using it.
This is the method i used on my X-2, X-3 and softmod xbox.

Thanks, I'll give it a go. It shouldn't be any problem then because I'm using MXM as a dash. I use XBMC as an app. Great site man!!

Well, it didn't work for me. I followed the directions (except my version is so old there is no userdata folder in the directory)and when I went to test the new build I just got a screen of multi colors and then nothing. I've included the log if you don't mind helping me. Thanks.

OK, I'll give that a shot. I've downloaded it and run the update but the DVD burner on my computer is broken. As soon as I get a new burner I'll burn the ISO and try to install it on my box. Thank you. That AID disk is very impressive BTW.
PS I suppose I should remove my old version of XBMC before I run the AID disk, right?

You don't need to as long as you install it to a different partition or as an App.
