I recently softmodded my v1.0 xbox using the Splinter Cell exploit. After about a week of playing around with xbmc I decided to get cocky and try and add the original dashboard sounds to unleash x. I did this by ftping the backed up wave files to my pc and then trying to place them on the xbox c drive according to the default locations specified in the unleash x sound settings. The sounds began working in the settings menu, but not in the main menu. I thought I'd just try a reboot. When I did I got the usual xbox screen, but unleash x never loaded afterward. I can load splinter cell and go to the save exploit but nothing will load from there either. Sometimes the unleash x splash screen appears but that's it, then blank.
I'm wondering how much of a mess I've made, and if I can possibly use an AID disc to recover unleash x, maybe by undoing what I did via ftp. I did back up everything before I did the softmod, only I never copied those files to my pc so they are still only on the e drive of the xbox. Of course now I wish I had left well enough alone with the sound, but then again if I was that sort I wouldn't have modded to begin with. I've already downloaded AID v3.0 and v4.10 lite but I'd thought I'd seek some advice before trying to do anything with them.
Worst case scenario I guess I can still play games, but I was willing to risk that to try this, and during the week it worked I fell in love with xbmc. Thanks in advance for any ideas, I'm a noobie at this.

Welcome to the HQ and i hope you enjoy the site.
If you got your aid disc and it will read the disc just pop it in and do a system restore.
Just install MS to C drive and back up the eeprom and ms dash then do the softmod istall again with the aid disc.
