Post subject: backing up EEPROM.BIN with UnleashX

I have a softmodded Xbox with UnleashX installed as my boot dashboard... I believe it is installed to the C: drive. During the SoftMod install, I told it to backup my EEPROM and backup the MSDash from C: Now, when I FTP into my box, there is an E:\Backup\MS folder with a bonch of files... which I assume is the original MSDash backup. What I DON'T see, though, is an eeprom.bin file. I couldn't find it anywhere. The only way I could get one was to install Evox as an application and run its backup program from the Evox menu.

My question is: does the eeprom backup in UnleashX not work? I even tried backing up the eeprom from the AutoInstaller Deluxe disc I used... that didn't work either.

I'm pretty sure the backup you're talkin bout you did with SID while modding it correct? If so then it doesn't back it up to the MS folder thats just the backup for the C:\ drive. It should be somewhere in the E\ drive, I beliieve in a folder named SID if you used SID for you're softmod. The softmod I use to use backed it up somewhere in the TDATA or UDATA folder so you might wanna check those also.

Thanks J_Smoke! I think you're right. I used the Evox one, but as you suggested I searched the UDATA folder on E:... there's an info folder for the SID in there... and I found backup sub-folder with an eeprom.bin file.

That's kind of confusing... I don't remember anything in the SID manual or instructions saying that this backup was buried deep in the folder tree... I only read it backed up to E:\Backup.

Good to know for the future I guess! lol

I completely agree there pezzar the evox backup is way better. I also like to use config magic to back up my eeprom and also I always unlock then relock the HD in any Xbox I mod so the master pass for the HD is teamassembly so if anything happens to it I can always unlock it and use xboxhdm to fix it.

I used the SID5.01 back up feature and it backed my EEPROM to a folder on E drive called EEPROM back up so it was easy to find for me on my XBOX.

I agree man I got a chip in all my boxes but one, but if you don't have the $$ or the ability to get a chip for some reason you gotta do what ya gotta do.

At JJLuchiano-->Yeah I'm pretty sure all the new SID installers back it up to there but I don't think the older ones do and theres a different one I picked up a while back that didn't either.
