Cannot UnleashX see skins while still in the zip file?

If one installs UnleashX using AID 4.10 (with 4.12 upgrade), the skins that are installed are in the folder as zip files. This leads me to believe that UnleashX can. . . BUT it does not. It will only see the skins if they are unzipped (i.e. e:/skins/Project Mayhem III).

So my question is, then why does AID install the skins as zips?

Specifically regarding the UNLEASHX skins, I installed from AID 4.10 (with 4.12 upgrade). Looking in the E:/skins folder all the skins are in zip format.

Not a big because I already organized several favorites that I have collected and archived (in unzipped format).

This is just an observation made from AID 4.1 (with 4.12 upgrade).
It doesn't make sense for the AID CD to install as zip. It should be in folder format.

In order for UNLEASHX to see the skin it needs to be unzipped (..skin/'skin_folder_name'.
If this is the case then why does AID install in zip format (...skin/'skin_name.zip'?

Your xbox unzips it when its installing and its in zip to save space so you can fit the aid iso on a CDRW.

Really?!?!?

AID installed as zips. . .

Wait a sec. I am using the iso updater and select the addon packs (which are in zip format) am I suppose to unzipped those?? Can't be because it requests rar (aka zip) files not folders to add on.

I am confused. Crying or Very sad

That confuses me a lil too. Anyways I know theres at least 1 version of Unleash X that will pick the skins up if they are zipped, I use to have it but I deleted it when I got my newer one. I know the last three UX versions I've tried wont let you have zipped skins, but I read the changelog they came with and it says it supports zipped skins so who knows maybe the creator took it out from some odd reason.

The xbox reads zip files just like with the action replay, thay need to be ziped. And no you dont unzip the to install with the updater.
I dont know any other way to say it but the xbox read zip file as if thay are not zipped.

AFAIK the latest version of UnleashX supports skins in ZIP format (according to the changelog). Yes its true that I didnt test this properly as the only time I use UnleashX now is for AID or SID, and those skins are unzipped.

If you have unleashx skins in ZIP format just copy the .zip file to E:\Skins
DONT EXTRACT IT AND DONT USE THE AID ISO UPDATER!!

The changelog on the newest Unleash does say it supports zipped skins as you said DJB, but for some reason it just wont work. It kinda bugs me that I've downloaded about 5 different versions of UX and they all have in the changelog that they support skins in zip format and not one actually does. I wish I would have kept the version I had that did actually support them. Sad
