Did a xecuter 2.6 pin header install, first time it was fragging so i went back and checked all my solder connections and re-did them, but i ended up ham handing the wire harness for the external switch so i put the chip in without it and the xbox is working, but its showing the microsoft logo at startup... is the chip off by default? or is it still not installed right? and any ideas where i can get a replacement harness for the external switch?

So have your flashed the xecuter witha HACKED BIOS from the VIP DOWNLOADS section? You will need to flash the modchip witha hacked bios before it will boot BACKUPS, EMULATORS or other XBOX APPLICATIONS from DVD-R/HDD..
If you have already flashed your modchip and want to see if its working.
Try booting a BACKUP or out AUTOINSTALLER.
Burn the .iso file to DVD-R/CDRW using nero or dvddecrypter etc etc and then boot in your xbox..
If you modchip is fitted correct and flashed it will BOOT.. If its not then it wont..
anyway, hope that gets you started.. Ive contacted CONNOR2k who is our expert on the xecuters.. Im sure he will reply soon

i thought if it was working it was supposed to boot to the cromwell flashbios though? at least this is what i am decifering from reading about 8 diff. tutorials on doing this.. i'm going to try and throw a bios cd in and see what she does... in the mean time.. any ideas where to get a replacement wire harness for the external switch still? _________________ XBOX v1.1

burn the x2.4983 bios in a 512k size to a CD-RW with a 55meg padding file and threw it in the xbox.. it says cannot load disc, make sure it is an xbox game, DVD movie etc... so i'm guessing that means the modchip isnot installed correctly or it has something to do with the fact that i killed the external switch... anyone who has any experience.. your input would be appriciated! _________________ XBOX v1.1
