Downloaded Xbtools, EVtools (seems this one is more compatible with M8 )
Kernel version 1.00.4979.06
Chip: Xecuter 2.? (Atleast it's an Xecuter 2 I'm sure)
Bios: It doesn't recognise my BIOS in System Settings and neither when I try to do Checkbios (Application in XBox). It says unknown modchip/unknown bios...
When I use flashfxp and check my xbox I don't see a map called Bios but I do see a Backup map containing bios.bin (1mb large)
I also checked in the evox.ini file. Under the section [BIOS] there are a lot of things written that I don't get. Maybe you guys can figure out what it means...I posted a link to my evox.ini, just click on the link and than download/open the evox.ini file

All games / Videos etc have run fine though, only mortal kombat deception doesn't works. It pops back to the Evox Main menu that's why I want to install the M8 bios now because others had the same problem and when they updated their bios the problem was gone.
Could somebody please tell me how to exactly update my bios to M8 from the start to the end. I have never flashed a bios before and I don't want to make a mistake. I don't really relay on guides for now since I have the feeling that the M8 is a rather special version and an exception to another bios.
Just installed Evox build 3935...Now could anybody please help me installing a new bios so I have version M8 and so I am able to play Mortal Kombat Deception...

Hey Snos!
If you want to update the BIOS, why not burn M8 to CD-RW and just flash it that way?

You can flash executer 2's via the flash bios utility in evox, is the m8 bios on ur hard drive and I take it you xbox is not a 1.6?
Do you have the MD5 Hash in the evox.ini for your bios and bios chip?
You can't use xbtool on the m8 bios as it is only for executer bios's, evtool is only for evox bios's such as the M8
What "exactly" does it say when you try to flash just copy down everything.
Your evox.ini looks way messy, is difficult for me to read it.
Otherwise just do it via the Cd I guess, but would be nice to be able to do it thru evox (tho not the most reliable way)
I have had a few dodgy copies of M8 so if you want one that works let me know, is ur HD less than 137GB?

evtool is for editing evox bioses ,
your bios is not recognised because the md5 for that bios is not in the evox.ini or its not the same as the oryginal m8 bios ,
every time you edit bios and change anything in it the md5 is going to be different ,
as long as u get a copy of m8 from a reliable place , it doesnt matter if its recognised by evox or not it will still work like its suposed to ,
as to flashing your chip , do what djh82uk said
