Ok I already have my Xbox modded and everything. It runs fine, but at the time of modification I couldn't afford a bigger HDD. Now that i can, I'm going back to the friend who did my original mods. I don't wanna be a big hassle on the guy and make him re download a bunch of old stuff for me. I'm sure he's moved on to modding 360's. My question is this, what programs will I need to download to go from empty blank HDD to fully functional modded xbox. If possible include version numbers so i know im getting the right stuff. Right now I'm using uix which ive heard blows. and i have XBMC. which in all honesty i never use. But i do plan to use dvd2xbox and if xbmc is used ill need it. Thanks for all your help!

If all your looking to do is to upgrade the HDD, I'd go for either Chimp or XboxHDM.
Either program will have your HDD upgraded in no time, and I personally would go for Chimp. Its quick, easy and keeps everything you have already with just added amounts of GB's.
There is an in-depth tutorial for Chimp under my sig, should find it very useful. This upgrade will work regardless of whether you have a chip or softmod.

Didn't know whether he wanted to start fresh, or keep what he's got and just go bigger. Some people spend yearss filling up their Xbox to just the way they want it, emulators, apps etc. and sometimes prefer to upgrade to a bigger drive, but not lose everythiing they've spent years putting together. In that type of situatuion, I'd use Chimp etc.
Its up to him whether he wants to start a fresh, or simply upgrade the space and keep what he's got.

i would use xbox hdm because thats just me, but thats because i could hook it up to my computer and i couldnt find chimp to you.
if all you want to do is upgrade your hard drive FTP everything to your computer. copy the files you want to the correct folders on the cd you make and go from there, its fairly simple even though it took me like 2 days straight the first time i did it. lol
