| PS3 will have years of work ahead of them to setup the networks and custom software to run that type of system..
Good luck to them.. M$ has been doing this type of thing for years and certainly has more expertise..

| PS3 systems will cost a lot more than 360 and their games are more expensive too. I can't imagine the free online gaming doing much to off set the higher cost.
I think it would be years until PS3 will affect 360 in online gaming. Maybe that is why analyst say it won't be until at least 2009 that PS3 can take the market. |

| I think microsoft is prepared for the battle, and will flood the market with cheap/free content. The revenues from xbox live subscribers will give them leverage to stay on top, and the ability to do such things. When you pay for something, you expect a fair return.
Sony may have free online gaming, but what will they charge for say, classic ps1 titles and other content? Will they even have other content on dedicated severs? We (North America :P) will soon find out... My vote is for xbox live being the king. |

Anyone who has Live and is an avid online player will say they would rather play on Xbox Live than the Free PS online crap. Its free cause its Crap. You play online for the Human elliment of gameplay, But we all know The trash talk is what brings it to life, Sure you can use a headset on the ps2 and ps3, But those who have tried both i bet will agree Live kicks the Shit out of free PSonline. . | | Xbox Live will always be on the top of the Live service even if it isn't free. As we all know...you get what you pay for I've seen the PS3's online service..its hard to navigate through the menus to find things you need (friends list being one) NO ONE i've seen yet has said a word on PS3 network...no trash talk? boring...might as well play against AI...not to mention having to open ports for some games to work...i think thats total BS. On xbox you turn on the console it logs online start the game and your ready to go...very simple. |

| | as i read in an earlier reply, nobody likes to play online with cheaters. The FREE thing means LESS content for the gamers. The main reason its best to pay for online gaming is the simple fact the connections are better, and there are less hassles for gamers to just start playing. Rather than slow connection speeds and no downloadable content(so far anyway). I mean really, who can compete with being able to play demos and watch videos right from there console? On top of that, the Microsoft servers are alot better since Microsoft has much more experience with this since they did come out with windows who knows how many years ago and have been supporting it since dial up. This is alot to say with bad punctuation and all, but im sure most of you agree with me. |
