Is NextBox closer than we think?

Whether it was specs off of chinese websites, developer comments, or plain old rumors floating about, we have definitely had our fill. Well...If that wasn't enough I am about to add more to the speculation. When asked about Rare's upcoming game's, "Perfect Dark Zero" and "Killer Instinct 3", Mr. Scribes had this to say, "“Kameo and Conker are currently the only Xbox projects that we've shown to the public. There may be others, or they may end up on the next machine. It all comes down to the fact that releasing games in the last stage of a console's lifespan can be a less than hugely profitable experience, so sometimes it makes more sense to carry them over to the early days of the machine's successor.”
Combined with the story we posted about the market research that Microsoft has conducted in regard to the next box leads many to believe we may see a new machine before next Christmas. After all, developers make money by releasing games. If a company is going to hold out on making money now, then you would certainly think, and not be accused of being illogical, that this next console release is sooner than later. My only problem is why would Halo2 and Xbox Next be released so close together? Unless of course the new machine will have a HD and backwards capabilities will be possible. Wait, that rumor is for another story.. more soon to come I am sure.
