TOKYO--Microsoft will soon release two limited-edition Xbox consoles in Japan. The first model, called Xbox Pure White Limited, will commemorate the console's second anniversary in Japan. The console, which can only be ordered online, will have a limited run of 1,000 units. As a bonus, consumers can also chose to engrave up to 20 letters in the console's casing, although Japanese letters cannot be used. The Xbox Pure White Limited model will retail for 19,800 yen ($186), and can only be ordered from the official Xbox Japan Web site from January 30 to February 6. The package comes with a white controller, DVD player kit, and an Xbox live starter kit with a free one-year membership and voice communicato.

The second model, called Xbox Kasumi-chan Blue, will be released on March 25, simultaneous with Tecmo's fighting game Dead or Alive Online. The console will come in a semi-transparent blue-colored casing based on the costume of Dead or Alive's main character, Kasumi. The Xbox Kasumi-chan Blue model will be released in a limited run of 5,000 units and will retail for 22,800 yen ($215). As a bonus, the console will come with a seat cushion emblazoned with an image of Kasumi. The console comes with one controller in the same blue color, a DVD player kit, an Xbox Live starter kit with one year free membership and the Dead or Alive Online game.
