Microsoft Surface launching simultaneously with Windows 8

Microsoft’s Surface tablet will arrive alongside Windows 8 in late October.
CNET reports the company confirmed the release date in an annual report filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission earlier this week.
"The next version of our operating system, Windows 8, will be generally available on October 26, 2012. At that time, we will begin selling the Surface, a series of Microsoft-designed and manufactured hardware devices," the report reads.
 
The tablet will be offered in Surface for Windows RT and Surface for Windows 8 Pro models. No pricing details were provided for the two versions in the report.
